Is anyone in FL going out to Sturgis in August for the rally?

Pappy!

Would love to, however it would mean (4) 500 mile days each way and the associated costs plus the costs of the event itself. That pace would be tough on Lesa.
Once out there, to make it worthwhile you may as well see as much as possible once the event is over. Be a long time away from home.

I think there is a possibility of the mountains again for some of us though.

Thinking about shipping bike out and ridding home.  ;)

Last time I saw BCoy he's going with his daughter trailing up riding during and trailing the bikes back.

BCoy and I chatted about this and I think his plans are to go early and join the Inzane meet. June time.

Nick, there is a guy that puts together trips out west from Tampa shipping the bikes one or both ways.  Some Wing riders used the service to make a trip to Alaska skipping the boring states.  I'll look for his name later and post back.  Seems it was about $1000 or around that number, but he went further than SD.  I am still looking at the trip as we like to do the Black Hills every two or three years.

This may help you plan either way.  I think the run you will really enjoy is Iron Mountain 16-A from 36 to 244 (or the inverse) marked in Yellow.  Also the Wildlife loop is great (Red).

Well let me tell you I thought I had the jump on Sturgis, I started planning in Nov and we were already 35 plus miles outside of ground zero for hotels. Prices had already ballooned because it is the 75th Anniversary for Sturgis Bike Week, we will be making it a family event for Inzane. My wife, daughter and I will be trailering our bikes to Spearfish ground zero.  I really enjoyed the Sturgis experience in 2012, but, the 75th Anniversary is going to be too much excitement for my wife so she agreed that Inzane sounded like a better alternative. Funny how things work out, I really wanted to go Asheville last year, but other plans got in the way. This will be my first Inzane, my daughter is really excited to see the sites and to ride the beautiful rides. YES WE ARE GOING TO BE TRAILER QUEENS FOR THIS TRIP.  With three drivers we will be able to drive straight through, two of us struggled to drive straight through in 2012, I am not as tough as I used to be when it comes to driving long distances. The joys of growing up.  :tickedoff:

It's starting to look like we will be going in June as well. Everyone who wanted to go for the rally are stating to back out already, and it's only January...lol

I have a friend up in NY who wants to go as well, so we will probably trailer with a few others. At least with a few drivers, I will be able to ride some of the way out.

Waiting to see what the plans are on the Inzane thread, hopefully we have a few of the FL gang going  :cooldude:

He still lives up in NY, but spend a lot of time down here with his Toy Hauler RV. Gona get him out on some North FL runs.
