I shouldn't go to the bike show.........cause if I was to get something new I don't really know what I would be happy with after having the flat 6 other than this......

Those Indians are beautiful. Met a couple guys on new Indians last summer and they are even nicer in person. But like you say I'd have a hard time with a v-twin.

The Indian and Valk have the same color scheme...I'd like to see a swap of the Indian front fender, seat and saddle bags on the Valkyrie.

Since I already have MGM, I'd have to go with the Indian.

An Indian 4 was the 1st big bike I ever rode.   Had to have people start it for me so I could ride it.   Didn't have enough poop in my britches to kick start it.

I should clarify that, they didn't make anything bigger than a Whizzer or Cushman back in my starting to ride days.

I should have kicked mom's butt for selling that bike.   She didn't need the $$$$, she just didn't like it setting around gathering dust after dad left us on Iwo Jima.

One of the guys I ride P G R with from Mountain Home Ar. has a 14 Indian in blue with that brown leather trim out. He likes it but I notice on rainy missions he brings his old bike!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Just based on looks (and excluding my disdain for v-twins of any sort), I prefer the retro/classic look of the Valk, over the 40's look of the Indian (valanced fender, whitewalls, spokes, fringe and tan seats are yuk to me).  I like the F6B look just OK (it would be the performance not the looks that sold me).  But it doesn't sell me at $17-18K.

But here's the deal.  I cannot seem to wear out either of my Valks (which I've got nearly perfectly set up for me), and with proper maintenance I doubt I can wear either out before I pass on. Not only can I not wear them out, but at 16yo they remain amazingly reliable.  I could afford any bike I want, but I am a cheap and frugal bastard, and the grass is not greener just because it's newer (or brand new).  I ride with people regularly who had newer bikes than mine when we started riding together, and they are now on their 2d and 3rd new bikes, and I still like mine better than theirs.  Mine are getting worn around the edges with paint/chrome fade, scratches, dings and rubs (just like my body) but they still shine up pretty nicely (unlike me).  And to top it off, if I buy a new bike, my County will tax me on it every year, adding thousands to the purchase price over time.

Of what's out there, I do like Jig's Cross County Tour for looks, and more than most other twins.*

So I will always look (like at the wimens), but until I wear one out, I don't think I'm getting anything new(er).

*Pull the trunk, add a carry bracket (solo rack), solo seat with backrest (ie supervalk it), and I like this one.

I'll take care of the bike you buy and clean it and wash it and polish it and dry it and lube it and maintain it and take care of it.

Just leve it at my house and I'll take care of the bike you buy and clean it and wash it and polish it and dry it and lube it and maintain it and take care of it.

Really like the trunk ........ very sharp!

Very nice as well. Sat on a blue one at the show.

I also sat on this at the show.....

New model this year. Could not believe how comfy the (heated) seat is.
I know for a fact that I'd have to put money into a seat on an F6B.

I really like that red/black 2014 all blacked out new Wing Honda came out with, not your old geezer look at all with black rims and blacked out exhaust.

My 20K+ would be on that over all else.

Gee what a thoughtful offer Paul.   Smiley

Atlanta is just a bit far away to leave my bike though.

I don't really mind the cleaning and polishing.  I keep my bikes pretty nice, but I'm not really a fanatic about it.  That's also the beauty of being the owner/operator of two 16yo bikes.  They are no longer sweet virgins.... just a couple of middle-aged pretty fat girls.  (We could do a double-date  Grin)

I sat on the new Indian Roadmaster last week as well. The sheer size of that bike helps to offset the front valanced fender for me. VERY nice looking bike and I would take a hard look at it over a Wing or fbb. Absolutely over a Vic CC (also a nice ride)

Go to the demo rides.  The indians are nice to look at, expensive, more cramped than our valks and do not have near the performance.  I question the reliability as well.  While Hondas dealer support leaves something to be desired, I'm sure there are more Honda Dealers across the country than Indian.  (ever break down in West Bumphuk?)

I would never buy one to replace my Valk(s), and if given one, might sell it and buy 3 or 4 used valks to replace it.  Or a Valk, a sport tourer, and a dual sport.

I saw one of these after about 6 months in AZ. The bags were sagged and faded badly. Looked like crap. Buying an Indian is like marrying a supermodel. Nice to look at but if you take it out and play, you'll just mess it up.

There's nothing worse than sagging bags. I had a 98 shadow Aero green and cream with leatherlike bags and windshield. The lids of the bags were painted buckskin to match my buckskin corbin seat. Everywhere I went I got compliments. Between that bike and my Valk there's nothing better.

Jess, You expressed my sentiments exactly. Maybe not cheap but respectful of what is in our wallet and that it remains there. Besides, I have a simple formula for assessing other motorcycles that I would like to own. Do I want one more than my Valkyries; yes/no? Will the riding experience be better/worse? Is the triple cost justified/warranted? I love looking at them but what is the reality of actually owning, insuring, maintaining and paying for the darn thing? Besides, my and most every Valkyrie out there still has an incredible cool factor, even if it's showing signs of use and wear. Kinda like my boots, gloves and leathers of which I've been using for about 30 years. I'm like DDT on that matter; "Badge of honor".

Sinkhead - you can buy all the high mileage used Valks you can find but when you put them all together, you still won't have one with fuel injection, abs, heated seat, heated grips, aluminum frame, or luggage capacity equal to new Indians & Victorys.

My Cross County has HP/Torque/Weight values nearly identical to my Valkyries, gets 50% more mpg.

Plus, it seems like every small town acrost the country has a Polaris dealer as well  coolsmiley

The two bike in the original post are like apples and oranges.  One you buy for the performance, because IMO it offers nothing at all in style.  The other drips with style.  The old Valkyrie offered both so you didn't have to choose.  The Victory is nice, but it doesn't grab me.
