Bought a raffle ticket around Christmas from the Eagle Lake Texas fund raiser. They had a list of about 20 guns to be given away. I got a call Saturday night that I won Ruger 10/22 match rifle. My lucky day.......better go buy a lotto ticket today.
p.s. Anyone know what the 10 stands for?

I believe it is the number of rounds you can hold in the gun... Joe

The 10/22 is in my estimation the single best 22mm rifle that you could possibly own.
It is accurate, simple, and reliable.
And the most "customizeable" rifle ever released to for publlc use.

I loved my 10/22, bought a couple 30 round mags for it. Also purchased a (legal) trigger spinner that turned like an egg beater and emptied a mag lickety split! Accurate rifle and great fun. Sure wish I hadn't lost it in that boating accident.

You're still a winner. The way I see it you're still $100 or so ahead.

I can pick it up for me if you don't want it. I have a scope and I'll take the company truck to go get it. Won't cost a thing.

back when I bought my ruger 10/22 about 20 years ago, it was a packaged deal with 4x scope and cheap ruger 10/22 emblemmed case for 199 total in pricing. Now, it is close to 300 bucks with scope am sure. Not so sure a .22 is really worth 300 bucks in pricing, especially when 25 years ago my new ruger M77 .30-06 rifle was only 350 brand new.
Although, a 20 round box of Remington rifle shells were back then 10-12 bucks, now lucky to get a 20 round box for under 20 bucks, near double in price as well.
I don't think the basic ruger 10/22 is any different at all now as it was 20+ years ago, but why mess with perfection, great little gun to own.
congrats on the lucky ticket!
