Rollin' out for a ride it's 26 degree's on my back porch ( 6:00 a.m. ) but they claim 55 for the high this evening with sunshine. Thinking about backroads with a southern flow for my ride today.

Got in some awesome freezing fog this morning down along the river. After hookin' up with the group ( 10:00 a.m.  ) we did hit a couple patches of ice on a old country backroad . Great ride today ( 265 miles ) .

4 of us zip, zapped and zoomed around Dawsonville, Ellijay, Talking Rock.

Butt puckered every time we hit shade in a bend. Just a few very small patches of easily avoided slippy stuff.

Left Cumming at 10 and rolled into my garage at 2.30.

45 minutes for lunch and just over 200 miles - bad boys, bad boys.  Grin

Had to clean up 8 bags of trash scattered across a road corner that a prat in a pick up didn't come back for. Idiot

'Bout the same for us yesterday. Scouted Cades Cove Campground & did the loop in prep for Sync Fifeflys in June. Still gotta make sure we can ride the loop after dark to Abrams Creek trailhead. Supposed to be 'bout as good as Elkmont.

My wife loves Cades Cove loop. I hate it as it kills the clutch hand trying to crawl thru there. I never got to see the flies when I lived there as they got so popular and I hate crowds. May try some of these alternative locations sometime if they pan out as a spot to view. Keep us posted how it goes  cooldude

Yeppers, loop was bad even yesterday. Took us over an hour! (I coasted alot.)
I'm huntin' someplace without the crowds for Fireflys even if we hafta camp at Cades. The campground's nice & we can still reserve for June (unlike Elkmont). Tremont's jus' down the street & I hear it's got 'em. That would be EZ access from Townsend & prob damn near deserted. Still doing research, will let ya know.
