Going Bionic

Wednesday I had my right shoulder replaces with a reverse ( socket in arm bone , ball in shoulder)procedure. I was told the surgery would be about two to two and a half hours. The Doctor was out to see my wife to discuss the results with her in an hour and fifteen minutes. The wonders of the modern chainsaw. I woke up in recovery and back in a room in about two hours. I was drugged up and on pain-killers . I did not feel to bad considering what I just went thru. The Dr. did a pre-measure catscan (or mri) to get the actual measurements so the shoulder would fit right in. His method is perfected and constantly improved on. I went to the hospital where he would do the surgery , and not the teaching hospital where he instructs. I have had four shoulder surgeries and wanted him to do the work. I was dis-charged on Thursday and am stopping my pain meds today. I am not in any more pain than the ortho-scpoic surgeries caused. I am scheduled to have the other one done in the fall. It will be a regular replacement(at this time.

Once rehab is done you will be more than satisfied, we do the reverse shoulder and the patients do better faster than with the conventional replacement.
Just remember to Rehab Rehab Rehab. Also If the Physical Therapist don't piss you off they aren't doing their job

Sounds like it went well
. Hopefully the next shoulder will be the last surgery you'll need.

Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
