Lots of power to weight ratio. Great little bar hopper or throw around bike. No storage or touring capability so won't work for me unless as a 3rd bike. Would take it 1000X over a Sporty though.

I'm thinking in a few yrs when I can't hold the fat girl up anymore. I just might be looking for one of these for around town. Most v-twinkies leave me cold but this one speaks to me.

Of course the original wasn't a bad looking bike either.

Love mine so far.  Took delivery on Jan 10th and it's everything the reviews say.

Tell us more! You are the first person I know who owns one. Would you mind doing a little review with the pros and cons? This is the only bike, other than the newer V-Max, that pushes all my buttons like the Valk did back in 2001. The only downside I can see, is it would cost over a grand to equip it with a backrest, passenger pad, pegs and sissybar/passenger backrest. Oh, and I dislike forward controls.

I think they nailed them this time. I have a friend with a Chief and he's purchased his last bike.
Much like the first 10 miles on my Valk.
A friend and I dug a 1940 Scout out of the jungle in the Phillipines. He still has it in his garage.
I'd love to hear it tell its story.

While the Scout is what I wanted and hoped, there are a few things I would not expect it to do well.  I don't think it will ever be really good at touring even with all the added equipment and I'm not sure it's the right place for a passenger for any trip of length.   This Scout kept with the tradition of a low compact more sport oriented motorcycle and that's why I like it.   I think some of the accessories destroy the low profile.

I am 5'10" and the stock seat, bars and foot controls fall perfectly in place.   Because of the size of the bike, the forward controls are really not that forward.  Indian does offer bar, seat, and foot control variations to get close to your ideal position.

The materials, fit and finish are very impressive for $11k.  The engine is awesome, just awesome.  It is perfectly happy to be ridden like a typical twin cruiser OR wrung out like a big Ducati or Aprilia twin.  I cannot wait to see what other models they offer wi this engine.

Granted this bike is 15 years newer than anything I've owned but compared to the dozens of more modern bikes I've ridden lately the Scout impresses.

As a second bike, it's perfect.   I'm probably selling my other 3 bikes and adding a Chieftan this year fully admitting to my decades long fascination with Indian.

Any specific questions?

Thanks for the info. Believe me, if it was a second bike, I would not screw with those beautiful lines by adding stuff. But I can't justify two bikes and my wife does take occasional short rides with me. Just something to dream about, I guess. I have spent years making tweaks on my Valk and adding stuff, until it fit me perfectly. Not sure I want to start over, anyway.

Thanks again for the info, and keep us updated, reliability-wise.
