Most of we Florida residents know of Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.  During a recent  interview, he said that if a suspect surrenders peacefuly, there is no problem.  But if he has a gun and aims it at one of his officers, he will be shot.....a lot!

I agree with Oss,  tell the police you just shot the intruder several times over and over again.  The cops will be there ASAP then regardless of race, etc.

reminds me of the guy who saw 2 guys breaking into his garage.    he called the sheriffs office  and told them and the sheriff said "We don't have anyone available to send out.".....................several minutes pass and the home owner called the sheriff again and said "Well, I shot those two guys."...........Within 5 minutes the sheriff arrives at the scene and asks "where are they?"....the guy says "In the garage."     The sheriff goes in finds the two burglars not shot but still stealing stuff......the sheriff arrests them and puts them in the police car.    The sheriff comes over to the home owner and says "I thought you said you had shot them.".......the homeowner says "Thought you said there were no police officers availabe."
