A while back I seen a program about the cars in Cuba, and if I recall correctly, Fidel made it a law that those cars can not be exported. I remember in the late 80's I worked at a Fab. shop and we use to make parts for 60's and 70's cars that went to Central and South America.

If the current government would allow those cars to be exported, their current owners could sell them for more money than they have ever seen.

That's like a step back in time to the mid and earlier 50's. To think I actually owned a few of those cars in my day. I noticed a lot of them had some pretty fancy wheels so not everything is OEM on them.  Wink

MOST of the Merican iron depicted I've either ridden in or driven at one time or another.  cooldude WHAT a memory jog!  2funny 50-60-70 years old or more-I'd say the Cubans have some good wrenches in their ranks.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I'm sure that originally was no concern when it came to keep these relics running all these years.  It would be interesting to see what's under the hood.

When I first heard our "Fearless Leader" was opening relations with CUBA, the first thing I thought about was the classic car market might take a hit from all the new inventory.

After looking at the pics, seems the market is safe.

Most of the cars are 4 doors.  Sad
