A U S Army Sgt-Brytain Geary-was presented a refurbished house today AND the paid in full deed to that house!  cooldude As I understand it he is a Survivor of the Ft. Hood Texas shooting. He has a service dog and a brain injury. He has a lovely wife and 2 Beautiful daughters aged 2 and 3. They THOUGHT they were coming to "look" at a house they might purchase. The wife needed help coming up the driveway as the full implications of grizzled old Nam Vets standing a Flag line hit her.  coolsmiley Let's just say this old Vet had a tear in his eye as we rendered Honors to Sgt. Geary. The folks responsible for donating the house are-Roofs for Troops-Nehemiah Community Reinvestment Fund and Bank of America. P G R was asked for help in determining WHO should get the house. Our choice of Sgt. Geary was chosen. As I understand it Roofs refurbishes the house with selected contractors sells the house to active duty Military or Veterans. Again-as I understand it every 10th house is given to a deserving/injured troop. And yet again as I understand the refurbed houses are sold at 25% below market. Truly one of THE better missions I'd been on BECAUSE the Proud Warrior we stood for was able to talk with and the family received a Paid in Full house!  cooldude How kewl is THAT? RIDE SAFE.

That is pretty cool. Would have liked to been there for that.
