Good morning fellow owners. My 1998 bike just quit on me the other day. The headlight and the ignition wouldn't work, yet all the other functions (turn signal, horn, etc.) did. Initially, I checked ALL fuses which appeared good. Prior to loading on the trailer, turned on the ignition (the third or forth time), and the other functions were inoperable. (???) Upon a second review and test, the main fuse was blown at the starter relay. I have NEVER heard of a "partially" blown fuse, but apparently that's what happened. Morale to the story: Double Check Stuff.  cooldude

The fuse blew for a reason. It could be a corroded connection or more. A bad connection causes a high resistance. Most ( I know, I am sounding like a broken record (baby boomer saying) fail to check all connections when looking. If it starts , It's fixed. Go back thru the the battery , and plug in connections and make sure they are clean and tight. .

+1 million, it blew for a reason, the fun part is figuring out what that reason was.

The other option is to wait for it to happen again...dont ask me how I know....
