Kinda sad they will soon be giving them away  :(

(GL1800C) Black 5-speed 1832cc - $10999 (Kodak, TN)

http://knoxville.craigslist.org/mcd/4878992108.html

The other local dealer has ( 2 ) and he still wants full MSRP  $17,999  .... I think if I wanted one I'd drive 15 miles up the road and save $7,000.00

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

I would say "My only regret is that I didn't wait for the price to drop" but...... I have no regrets

I'd like to have paid less, but I sure am glad what is behind me is
behind me. Two days ago I rotated the handlebars up a little,
and things got even better. Yesterday I cut another inch off
my windshield, and this morning's ride in was really good.

I'm ready to get the Corbin saddlebags now...

If all you doom-sayers are right, and they quit making them, I'll
be glad I have mine...

Smokin' Joe, a slight side note, but have you ever dealt with that dealer that you linked to?  That one is only about 15 or so miles from the folks place, and figured if we ever needed parts for the Ladies, that we would stop there.  Just didn't know if they were decently priced, or good to deal with.

Yes I have bought parts from them so has my friend's. They are members of another motorcycle site I'm a member of. The owners are both young in their 30's and they have built that dealership up from scratch. As far as dealers go Mountain Motorsports would be hard to beat.

I wouldn't call me a doom-sayer however I might need to come to South Carolina just to see one on the road. I drive between 2,500 / 3,000 miles every week and I've not seen one on the road since I left InZane last year.... How many have you seen on the road ?   On a side note I've only seen a couple F6B's we came up behind one coming back from Florida after Christmas it looked like a bigass Cushman scotter from behind
when I went around him I was looking for his step-thru  ???

That's a killer deal. Considering what you're getting for that kind of money.  :coolsmiley:
"Go sell crazy somewhere else,we're all stocked up"

jimmytee

I can't say I've seen any on the road except for at INZANE. The dealer where I bought my F6B is right down the street, and I know he has sold at least one black one. But I have not seen it on the road either. I have, however , seen quite a few F6Bs on the road. When I say quite a few, I'm talking like 8-10 during last summer season.

I've never seen another Valkyrie that I remember.

I've never seen an F6B either, except JimmyTee was at the
Fall Color Ride.

And my Father used to have one  ;)

I stopped by the local dealer in Roswell yesterday only to find it had changed hands....it is now owned by Mountain Motor Sports.  I'm glad to see that since the last two owners have been pretty sorry.  The last time I was in there in November to get a part for my Kawasaki Mule they had dropped the Kawasaki line entirely.  I think MMS has about 6 locations in the Atlanta area now.

Actually, that's some great merchandising.    So what if they are taking a loss, it's great advertisement.    Not throwing stones here but, selling a motorcycle like that, one that has limited potential buyers is a great move for a great price.    Gets a bike that has been sitting on the floor for quite a while gone and generates a lot of almost free advertising.    After all, we're talking about it.  ;)

I'll admit that if I had enough "extra" money, I'd be going for a visit.    But, all the changes I'd want to make would break me.

The owners of the defunct dealership ran a very loose business.

The only good thing there was the old Lab who loved everyone.

I paid $11,200 for a new 2003 that had a list price of $13,200.  And I thought THAT was a good deal.

I'm sorry to say, but they built the wrong bike.  IMO of course.

They just didn't finish...

I got no problem with what they did build.  And I have seen some with some cool aftermarket thingies.  But it's like the Rune all over again.  Two years later you could still buy a new one on ebay.

Two dealers in my area told me there is no interest in the Goldwing Valkyrie at all and one doesn't even have one on the floor (same guy that told me to wait for the 2004's  :uglystupid2: ).

Rams

A few months ago I was in one of the Louisville, KY Honda Dealerships.     Was looking a two different Goldwing Valkyries, the salesman almost killed himself trying to get over to us.    Told me that his owner was willing to give one heck of a deal just to get the Goldwing Valkyrie out the door.    We discussed price but, I can't remember the number he gave me.    While we were talking, he came down over $2K and said he'd talk to the owner about going lower if I was serious.    I told him not to bother.

I know it will handle better and out run my old Valkyrie but, it just isn't the bike for me.

Many of us aren't surprised that the price of the new *Valk* is dropping like a stone.
Honda messed up which they'll shortly confirm by dropping the model after 2016. jmo

If you like one get one. It will never be a collectible like the Rune though

Rams

Honestly, I'm not trying to be a smartass with this comment but, I wasn't aware the Rune was a collector's bike.    An oddity, maybe, a niche bike for sure but a collector's bike, not real sure about that.    Don't mean to be negative but, the demand was never really there.    Just like the Goldwing Valkyrie.

Rune looked like a cross between an Edsel, the Goodyear blimp and Flash Gordons favorite ride.
