Last night (2-12-15) the weather in Hell, MI was officially recorded as -12 degrees Fahrenheit.

JUST THOUGHT IT WAS OF SOME INTEREST

Witnessed a very odd one today here in The Republic...

Temp was mid 70's, was out riding the Valk in a t-shirt...

...and got behind a convoy pre-treating the roads with deicing solution...

Evidently it's 'sposed to get cold and wet in the next 48 hours or so and for once they decided to get ahead of it, but was just really REALLY odd to be riding the Valk under clear blue skies and getting behind a convoy of trucks putting down treatment to keep the road from freezing...

Wash that off right away, serk. Much worse than regular salt for corrosion. Get it off!

Holy crap. It has been blowing and gusting to tremendous speeds for two days here (sounds like a Boeing 747 roaring right over my roof).  And in the low teens off and on.  Laying in bed hearing all the dead wood blow out of the trees onto my roof and wondering what it would be like for 100yo oak to come crashing thru my house.  Great big/heavy trash dumpers blowing down the street.

Glad I have not lost power, esp since I have not yet got my new generator.

Winter sucks.

Besides the high winds/cold,  anyone on here from Boston MA area willing to show pics of all that dreaded snow piling up all around all winter long?  Only thing worse than just high winds is high winds with tons of snow.

Strong winds and cold is two things, but with snow, is 3 things you don't want all at once.   Cry
