OK, I have a lift that currently has my engine on it.  I have two jack stands under the rear of the bike.  While I am waiting on parts, how can I get the front of the bike jacked up so I can pull the front wheel and start polishing on it?

Second question.  Anybody ever soda blasted the corrosion off the wheels before polishing?  Thinking about doing that to speed up the process a little.  Where this bike had been parked for 7 years there is a lot of corrosion on half of the wheel.

Don't know how to get the front off if the ground, but I polished my wheels with various grits of sand paper starting about 300 grit and working down to 800.  After the 800, I used some jewelers rogue and a cloth polishing wheel I purchased from Harbour Freight.  They look pretty good if I do say so myself.  Smiley

a company called Eagle 1 makes a mag wheel etch that you could pick up at an auto parts store. This would get the hard part started.

Put a scissor jack under the engine and lift the front slightly.

Deflate the tire. It makes it easier.

Also ask on the Tech board. Cleverer than me over there.
