Pictures don't do it justice. This is no retro-machine, rather it's a neo-machine. It has a frame is somewhat of an exoskeleton that is cast and extruded aluminum and the radiator is held within the frame. The Scout has unusual scalloping on the tank, fenders, fork legs, headlight and even the turn signals.  The bike is small, almost tiny and it seems to weigh less than you would think while astride it. Yet Indian claims 100 hp and a torque of 72 ft/lb. and a wet weight of 522 lb.   This is truely a new age criuser.

I think that as a motorcycle that would appeal to older riders like myself as it embodies the power we have become used to without the bulk and weight of our Valkyries (blasphemy!!!). And at $10,999, I'm impressed.

ALWAYS QUESTION AUTHORITY!

97 Valk bobber, 98 Valk Rat Rod, 2K SuperValk, plus several other classic bikes

Agree completely George. Did I just say that? :cooldude:
I took it for a little ride and loved it. A great ride for some afternoon fun.
Absolutely blows a Sportster away.

It is a good looking bike for what it's supposed to be, would be fun and definitely take it any day over a Sporty but it's not for me. Pipes are butt ugly though.

Ive had mine for a month and it is exactly what I hoped.  Fun, fast, different.  So far, so good.

Does it vibrate? I am loving the look, but every V-Twinkie I have ever rode vibrated  badly. And with artheritic hands and other parts that just a'int fun.

It may not be as smooth as a Valkyrie but I would not say it vibrates or shakes.   I've just finished the 500 mile break in period and as soon as the weather warms will really be able to let it rip.  This thing screams over 6k.  Can't wait.

Gryphon Rider

I recently read a review for it in Cycle Canada.  They commented favourably.  CC has a writer who is a bona fide motorcycle designer, and he quite likes the design, as it's not simply a rehash of what's been done before.  The say it buzzes a bit in higher revs, but not unbearably so. IIRC, it has a 10,000 RPM redline.

Red lines at 9000 and really opens up between 6 and 9.  It's a big sporting twin in a comfortable and light cruiser suit.   You don't develop an engine for one model, will be fun to see what else they put this in.
