Church attendance map of America

Not sure what to make of it, but submitted for your consideration.

I wonder how it would compare to a map of Republican and Democrat populations.

What do you mean by church?  Any place of worship, regardless of religion or a specific religion?

Interesting the NEw England states are the lowest....... But they can't get to church for all the damn snow they got I guess.

Yes, but it might have to do with population density as well.  Im sure there are more church goers in NYC with 8 million people that in the 4 highest populated cities in Alabama (OK, I'm guessing, but I think I'm pretty close).

Blacks, especially newer immigrants vote Democrat as a block, but the north Bronx and east Brooklyn, storefront  churches are packed on Sunday because the folks happen to be extremely religious (and hold extremely conservative social values as well). 

Newer immigrant hispanics and filipinos (sp?) are the same.  Democrat voters yet religious and socially conservative.

I  agree. I don't know much about downstate, but, way up here the larger cities are democrat while we country folk are conservative. Yep, the population rules.
Both our conservative and liberal friends are big church goers. They like me since I got kicked out of the catholic church because they rely on me to get a big table at the diner on sunday before church lets out.
