Had to sell my 19ft StarCraft open bow for a pontoon boat 3 years ago, my 80 year old father couldn't handle the pounding in the boat. Something like that would have been a lot better than a 12mph pontoon.

That wuz amazing!  All these years to get independent suspension to water craft!  When they go into production I WONDER what the price point will be. I can already see how this will effect rescue water craft if they can't get a helicopter in. Much smoother for a banged up victim. When I hit the lottery I want one!  RIDE SAFE. |

I didn't like the fact that the regular boat had the engine jacked all the way up, the result would be more bounce. If they had put the engine back down to normal the boat would have been considerably less bouncy and cut through the waves. The sea that they showed wasn't to bad either. I would like to see it in a big sea. The pontoon boat does not interest me and to me is a waste, but the little outrigger looks like fun. I would like to try that with some real power behind them. If you want to do that why not just fly above the water or through it. I used to really like those boats nice job it really looks beautiful. Reminds me of my 18 foot Baja with a 200 horse Mercury on it. I flattened the bottom so it was straight with no hook and that thing would get up on plane ride on the last foot of the bottom and the engine. It felt like you were skimming the water. At low tide I used to take that thing in some pretty shallow water at full speed. Because if I stopped I would have grounded it. |

I was a big fan of those Chrysler outboards. Had electronic ignition triggered by a conventional distributor with points. The ignition box would go out and cost a little over $ 100.00 to replace. I converted several to "standard" ignition by using an automotive coil and condenser. No more problems. Cost about $10.00 to convert. |

I'm with you, Jess! I have the identical feelings about swimming pools. A pool is a hole in the ground you throw money..... a boat is a hole in the water you throw money.  Though if I lived farther south on decent water, I would really like to have some kind of boat. The local Potomac river is not nice water, it is a mudhole. |
