... My warning post was removed from the classifieds and he has a fresh post on there  right now so I guess the administrators of this forum also have their opinion about this. He still has not contacted me to remedy or refund so again, I lose. As far as I'm concerned, as long as I have informed the membership, I've done my job. ...

Valkjerk, don't assume too much.  There are at least five administrators.  It only takes one of us to remove a post.

I removed the posts on the Classifieds board.  The reason is that I agreed with those reporting the posts that they didn't meet the guidelines for the purpose of the Classifieds board.  The removal doesn't imply unanimous opinion of the administrators.

I do agree with you that this discussion has gone on way too long.  You have informed the readers of your experience and that should have been enough, on the General board, that is.  The back and forth has been far more than it needed to be.

Incidentally, a shot or two of WD-40 into the Wolo horn may cause it to start working again.

Those are my personal opinions.  They do not necessarily reflect the views of the VRCC staff as a whole.

Well I was going to stay out of this but even in the Navy + is pos. and - is neg. As for the relay it did not come with one but i added one per schematic what was also not included. I did electrical work my whole live and 8 1/2 years on hovercrafts for the navy so I think I know how to hook up a horn.

Wow..... You attempted to throw someone under the bus for  a used  Wolo Horn that goes NEW for 10-30 dollars??  Really?  Really??

PAVALKER...  At what price do you consider a bad deal, a bad deal?  Does it need to be a $100 item, $200?

You seem to have a burr up yer saddle with Valkjerk.  He posted a warning about a transaction with a member (that only seems to be here to sell)...  The posted reply from MD50/50 was snarky, to say the least, and rude on the face of it.

To question if the installer  (Trout Dude) knew enough to install with correct polarity is laughable...  The horn didn't work, and shouldn't have been sold as if it did.

Maybe the reason MD50/50 has not replied is that what Valkjerk wrote is true...

Black Dog

First off, we don't really know the all specifics of "the deal" and what value was assigned to that horn, or even if it was advertised as a working horn or not, and if there was a guarantee thst it worked.  Do you have details about the deal?  The accuser didn't provide that info, or the other info I asked for to justify his claim.  For all any of us know...if might have been a package deal (which it appears it may have been at this point) with many more items and the horn may have been  a toss in.  Obviously a used horn doesn't demand that high a price, does it?  I have a spare one on the shelf....but it wouldn't be worth me selling it on line and charging shipping etc.    Does that make sense?    The OP indicated he didn't ask for a refund, just some kind of compensation for a horn he alleges doesn't work.  Would it be worth shipping back to verify its function or not, or to get some compensation??  I doubt it, and I bet nether wants to pay shipping for a used horn.  So, was a 5 or 10 spot credit worth calling out this incident as someone trying to rip another person off?  And what about this list of other members the OP claims to have been ripped off......he didn't include one.  I just find the whole thing suspect without specifics.....that's me.

I don't know Trout Dude or his mechanical and or electrical abilities.  Obviously the OP admits he doesn't have the ability to hook up or test a horn since he had someone else do it. Granted horns are not all that complicated, but I have seen many a poster ask questions about hooking up relays for horns and those that.

What I'm suggesting is that we don't know all the details, even tho I have asked many times for specifics....but we just get bits and pieces.  I'm very suspect of any individual that points the finger at someone else for wrong doing, without being able to back his claims up with specifics, details and documentation at times.  These emails, Pms and such are saved unless an individual deleted it.  I have said before, I have PMs and emails documenting transactions from years ago.

I just reached out to maddog5050 to inquire about this.....and I understand he might care less to provide specifics and doesn't want to waste his time on it.....but we shall see.

Fair enough..... See.  As long as you did try to connect the wires to the horn and it didn't work either way....I can believe a fellow Squid that it didn't work then.   So what info do you go have about the package deal and what he paid for the horn?

Agree...but now it's a credibility issue, and that is probably worth more.  You put  someone's credibility on the line and you should have the appropriate detailed information to back your claim up, otherwise it ends up being your credibility at stake.  Accountability also comes into play. Far too much mud slinging goes on in an effort to hold someone else accountable, and those slinging should be held accountable as well. It might just limit the BS.

A little pimple festered into a big boil.

Hey y'all. I said I wasn't going to post on this any more but I feel compelled to do so now with an apology to Pavalker. I'm sorry that my action has inflamed you to this level. I thought about this as I ate my lunch and now realize that you are all snowed in, confined to your hovel with a serious case of PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) and no one loves you and/or wants to talk to you. I'm sorry and I feel your pain. (not really, I live in Louisiana) LOL LOL

P.S. You have your way of doing things and your opinions and you've voiced them here and I thank you for your input. We have been a source of entertainment for everyone else and lets stop it here.

You don't owe me an apology,  really.  And I'm not snowed in, it is  finally warming up.  But,.....maybe since you  still didn't provide the supporting specifics about the deal, how much you were ripped off etc, oh  and who/how many of your friends were ripped off by maddog5050.... maybe you should give an apology to maddog5050 for dragging him and now yourself thru the mud.

Your action of attempting to report being ripped off didn't inflame me, but the careless, casual and uninformative   manner in which you attempted to do so did get under my skin.  The fact that you still don't care to back up your allegations speaks volumes.  Not only did you obviously not care about another's character and credibility, but you didn't care enough about your own to provide the details... Or maybe you did, and that is  still why we don't have a Paul Harvey "rest of the story".   Maybe MadDog5050 will enlighten me and respond to my inquiry.

Good Day....

Sorry, I didn't know you were elected  HMFINC of the Grammar Police.  Thanks for the correction...but it's a bit difficult on the small screen of the IPad at times.  I'll try 2 b mo better with dat grammar.N stuff.

And, as for the excoriate a fellow member, no more than what he did to another fellow member.  They were both members for same time, one two days longer....the one just doesn't post much and some of you want to condemn  and not accept him as a member for that reason I guess.   Had it been the other way around where MD initiated that type of post to  Valkjerk on the board, I would have responded the same.  Nothing against the person, just the act and manner in which it was done.

Valkjerk,

I got a reply from maddog5050.  He indicated that the horn was working the last time he had it on the bike right before he took it off and had it on the shelf.  Maybe it is stuck and Willow's trick will get it working for ya.  Maddog5050 said he was out of town for a week or so and doesn't check the board or that email account daily.  But he did say he finally  got to the emails you sent ..the 2 emails within 2 days and didn't take too kindly to the threatening or cussing ones.  He quoted some of it to me, and if it's a valid quote, I can see why maybe he ignored it.  I probably would have as well.
Is that how you got your handle?

And if no one wants to read any more of it....don't respond to it.

I'm glad you took it upon yourself to find out the specifics about 2 others deal, or no deal whichever it may be. You apparently have more time than I do to worry yourself about someone else's issue.

I did like the "HMFIC" comment though.

I bought an Interstate trunk with mounting brackets and fender rails from Maddog5050.  It was  a fair price, and as depicted.  He was a little particular about payment method, but did work with me on meeting up to take possession, sending his son to make the delivery since he couldn't.

The IS trunk purchase was recent and it's not mounted yet.  What you see is an old picture, which is my standard sig pic.  It was not intended to illustrate my point, which seems to have been completely missed by everyone:
