he has attacked the 2nd amendment the fourth amendment (ok Bush also on that one) and trampled the heck out of the 10th (states rights)
the book I am reading is relevant because it deals with the SEVERAL times secession has come up in our history as in the 1800s it was very real for DECADES before the shots were fired on Fort Sumpter by the Confederacy
Obama unlike all other presidents bent down to kiss the ring of a Prince of a arab country He aplogized for our values and squandered tens of trillions of dollars, threw at us with the help of Pelosi and their cabal a Health care bill that nobody had a chance to read, refused to throw Hillary under the bus, or Holder or any contributor (ok like Bush)
So POTUS have not been our strong suit since 2004 who would you recommend lets hear a CONSTRUCTIVE alternative for our country as we are more divided now than at any time in my memory

Most everyone on this board has their eyes open. Pay attention to actual news reports - NOT the spin of the lamestream media aka MSNBC. Try it. I know it's depressing and a shock to not watch the world thru rose-colored glasses. I've had to stop monitoring the news all day long, it's just too depressing. Especially when I think of the legacy - DEBT - we are leaving our progeny. (I get my news from a multitude of sources, including Fox, CBS, ABC, and multiple online sources. Most everyone except the liars at MSNBC) Maybe you could ease into it by just watching say O'Reilly's report after the evening news shows, on Fox. Then once you understand a bit about the CRAP fed to you by the Liar in Chief and the lamestream media in his pocket, you will actually become an informed voter, and will be able to absorb some other truthful and balanced news reports.
The O'Reilly that said he was reporting from a war zone ? The O'Reilly that said he was ringing the doorbell of Oswald's buddy when he committed suicide ? Somebody who repeatedly lies and exaggerates is pretty hard to take seriously. O'Reilly is the most popular cable news show BY FAR per the viewer polls. The "O'Reilly Factor" is balanced with point/counterpoint, left and right viewpoints argued by their proponents consistently - always debating both sides of all issues. Unlike the lamestream media. "Lies and exaggerates"? O'Reilly is nothing but the truth - and that's his schtick - why he calls it the "FACTor" Never watched it have you? Typical uninformed liberal. Got it. My liberal sister is the same way. Blasts Fox, parroting O'Liar, but when pressed, admits she has NO first-hand knowledge - has never watched anything on Fox. Dude I've been watching him and listening to him on the radio for YEARS. If you want to believe everything he says that's up to you. The facts are the facts, I just was trying to point out some of his BLOVIATING. |

Oss, Oh I am spinning my point.... I know that he is a politician.... he was just the best option in my opinion.... I am like you.. right now I am reading a collation of letter written by famous people while they were in Paris..... which includes Ben Franklin and other politicians.... I read several books a week and cannot go to sleep without reading... I still have a library card.. but its a lot easier now with electronic book checkout I just read an interesting history of the Afghan war up to 9-11-2001... Called "Ghost Wars" lots of details in our involvement there..... and the billions we sent over there... and how a lot of it ended up in the hands of people that later took serious advantage of us.... What would I do to change this country..... Flat tax... for all.... All politicians must be proposed by at least 10 honest men without his/her knowledge...... or everybodys name goes in a hat to serve in our legislature and picked at random for 2 year term..... Oh and only paid to cover living expenses Give ALL the lawyers Social Security now, Ley them retire, move them to arizona.. or Tenesse if they are riders, and make the practice of law for profit illegal.... I will not enter this debate (about the worst president and biggest liar in US history).
I will point out that when you own the US Attorney General (and the entire Justice Dept) lock stock and barrel, you can petty much do whatever the hell you want to.
Even though this is a traditional presidential appointment (to an executive cabinet post) with confirmation required, I am beginning to think this was a major mistake in our founder's attempt at building a system of checks and balances into our constitution.

I voted twice for the fellow and if you look at numbers, economy is at its best in MANY years..... unemployment is now at its lowest rate since 1978- I could go on but thats just couple of things..... He has also been the most successful in fulfilling his campaign and platform issues of any president since Regan......
SO lets look at the argument that The President (yes he is Mr Obama and I feel that the president should Always be respected.. even if you don't like what he's done.... I was brought up better and learned manners) a Emperor wanna be, and shots on OUR constitution on a regular basis...
Where has it been proven, other than the media, pundits, lobbyists, and haters that Mr Obama has violated the Constitution??? please state the Court case or prosecutorial evidence..... Have he been impeached?
Has there been any legal action- other than harsh rhetoric, that he has done ANYTHING illegal??? Or anything that any other president has done in office? Including those that have been impeached? Is there any proof he is a closet Muslim?
Mr Obama has issued Less executive orders that any president in the last 20+ years... I believe he's at just under 200 where as Bush was 291 and Clinton ordered had 364 while in office.... Teddy Roosevelt ordered 1081!! FDR was 3522... But he did have a war and a severe depression...... Which by the way we avoided one recently through decisions made by and during this administration.....
As far as FOX (fake) News.... before they came around you never heard the office of the president so disrespected...... even when the president was a crook and had to leave office... Walter Cronkite never called the president names (traitor, wanna be King, OBummer, etc) this is a news service by owned by a man who got his start running tabloid trash publications..... who also has pending possibly legal actions against him.
People like Rush Limbaugh are media whores that will say anything to gain and keep an audience to make money...... If he was such a patriot, why did he not serve? Why does he not run for office?
What are his qualifications to drive political issues? Did you know that he dropped out/Flunked out of college?? That he has only basically has been a disc jockey and talk show host his entire working life... That he has been to rehab multiple times and has lied about his drug issues.... He originally turned himself in for prescription fraud...... but he had good lawyer and a ton of money and it was expunged from his record.... most of us would have gotten prosecuted and paid some penalty, I'll bet.
Basically he is getting Paid a crap ton of money to stir the pot and has been anointed by the media as an "Authority" who has done nothing but talk and has never acted...... The closest to any real political experience is the fact that his Dad was a judge.....
All I say is, do some research and you'll see that most respected Media institutions- New York Times, Washington Post, etc. don't repeat much of whats said on TV media.. you need to take multiple "unbiased" sources into account... funny thing is a lot of what these people say doesn't look so conservative....

Yet FOX has the largest share of regular nightly veiwers, night after night, including netwrok news, and has been number 1 on cable for 15 years. Imagine there was no FOX news, or talk radio. Evryone would be getting their "news" from comedy shows like the libs do now since the main stream media is pretty much unwatchable with the like of Al Sharpton on prime time. |

Brad, I give you immense credit for having the guts to be David to this board's Goliath (the majority who appear to be very conservative in their beliefs). The thing that has always confused me, is that the right appears to be the party of the rich, doing the bidding of large, corporate America. I had no idea, Valkyrie owners were all so damn rich. I envy them. So, now we both will get flamed. Kinda fun to stir it up  Oss, Oh I am spinning my point.... I know that he is a politician.... he was just the best option in my opinion.... I am like you.. right now I am reading a collation of letter written by famous people while they were in Paris..... which includes Ben Franklin and other politicians.... I read several books a week and cannot go to sleep without reading... I still have a library card.. but its a lot easier now with electronic book checkout I just read an interesting history of the Afghan war up to 9-11-2001... Called "Ghost Wars" lots of details in our involvement there..... and the billions we sent over there... and how a lot of it ended up in the hands of people that later took serious advantage of us.... What would I do to change this country..... Flat tax... for all.... All politicians must be proposed by at least 10 honest men without his/her knowledge...... or everybodys name goes in a hat to serve in our legislature and picked at random for 2 year term..... Oh and only paid to cover living expenses Give ALL the lawyers Social Security now, Ley them retire, move them to arizona.. or Tenesse if they are riders, and make the practice of law for profit illegal.... See I didn't say bottom of the ocean.... B |

Seems the gist of the post has been lost. When it boils down, it's not about FOX News, Rush or O'Reilly it's about Obama shredding the Constitution of the United States into confetti with a pen and a phone. That can't be hidden by shaking a finger at those who merely report about it. The fact that hat some liberal judges and his personally tweaked Supreme Court have bent his crooked way is hardly surprising. Like in Vegas, the house always wins.

No it's not. It's a discussion I'm having on a comment thread. This board seems to have an over-abundance of Obama detractors, I'm just coming from the other side. In fairness if you'd been around when George W. Bush was president you may have observed the board had an over abundance of Bush detractors. This board has had over three hundred members signed on just so far today. There have been about 1,455 members signed on in the past month. Despite how noisy the discussion sound it is a very small minority that even bother to involve themselves in posting on political issues. My observation has been that the critics of the current holder of the residence on Pennsylvania Avenue tend to be the most motivated to be vocal. I personally (I speak for myself only and not the position of the VRCC) don't like the current president. I do however believe the real problem is not in the President himself. He was, after all, elected by the majority of the voting populace of the country. The real problem is where the country culturally has gone and is going as reflected by direction of the country's votes. I don't speak much on politics as I am just as closed minded as most on the subject. I have looked at what I consider meaningful and made up enough of my small mind to not require a whole lot of additional consideration. On the original topic, if Mr. Obama wants a third term it would not likely be done by rescinding the twenty-second amendment. Honestly, I don't think he wants it. He's not really an accomplished politician in comparison to many. What he has accomplished has not been so much the result of a lifetime of hard work and manipulation as it has been the result of being in the advantageous place at the right time and being the supported representative of other strong persons. When he's gone from the office we still have the large number of voters that elected him twice. For what it's worth, George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, are personal heroes to me. I do vote in every national election. |
