I'm mowing my back yard today. IMHO, one of the most useless endeavours ever invented by man.....a yard. Two weeks after you're dead, it'll look like crap and no one is gonna care about it or take care of it like you did. Two of the happiest days in my life....the day I sold my sailboat and the day I sold my lawn mower.

Our acidy clay soil needs lots of peletized lime to keep grass healthy. Now that I have skipped the lime for several years, I'm growing more mushrooms than grass. Many are bright red, and I don't eat them.
Mowing a third acre is not huge or hard work, and I need exercise (that is not huge or hard).
No spring grass here yet.

Just remember Jess......bright red means good for the head. You need to sample a couple of them and get back with us with your findings. Hehehehe

I had some wacky shrooms in college. They were alright and I never puked. But I will never eat colorful (or any) mushrooms from the woods or yard. I don't need food that bad, and if you get the wrong ones, you don't die quickly, you die in agony. No thanks. I do not know what's up with you guys eating all kinds of goop and wierdness. When I look at goop and wierdness, I suddenly have no appetite at all. To me, pink cotton candy is exotic (and I don't like that either). My body is a temple.... and I feed it cokes and barbeque chips.

all the snow just got completely melted and NOW gone for good for the year, or so I hope.
grass not too squishy anymore either.
71 for high tomorrow, just wish the crud on the roads were gone and a spring rain would come.
Mowing grass is something I endure, don't like it though, but need the exercise unlike every other neighbor around me but one having a riding mower for their 100x110' city lot is all. One even has a riding mower and at times pays me 10 bucks to come over and mow his own yard taking 20 minutes or so.

I have one, but I only use it when the weeds get too high. We dont really have much grass in Vail. Thats Vail, ARIZONA, about 40 degrees warmer right now and gonna be 80's today.

My back yard is 50% concrete and the other half is 50% dirt. I don't have a front yard because I live downtown. Just a little strip between the sidewalk and road which is mostly dirt because I park my vehicles there.
