It started a bit early for us in the great white north. On Saturday there was a planned gathering of a few of WI and IL's finest riders. I had planned to be there but since I was finished with my work day early, I decided that the Big Girl really needed to get out of storage. So shortly after 11, my chosen mode of transportation and I headed out with the clear intent of eventually arriving at the designated dining establishment at the time proposed. There was no reason to hurry, the meet was just over a hour up the road. Besides there is still salt and debris on the back roads, so no reason to open up the throttle too much just yet (ha-ha). There is a saying about the best laid plans......
My Lady decided to become a Trailer Queen for a day!

She was running strong and if you remember my earlier comment about debris still on the highways and byways, yep, a flat tire.

All experienced riders have their patch kit and the basic necessities for roadside repair along at all times, right? Well yes, but in this case it was futile.

I hope this is not a harbinger of the upcoming season. Less than 8k on that tire since last spring when it went on the Girl. I missed a gathering of, no doubt, epic tales and fine food as well. The new tire arrives Tuesday as soon as the weather drops back to normal for this time of year, meaning highs around 40. If any good came out of this, I can assure everyone that the Yokohama AVID ENVigor does not get squirrelly upon rapid air loss at highway speeds. I also meet some really great folks that let me leave the Big Girl in their drive while I was getting the trailer.
