Did you see his bike Stanley? If he had some of Mark's 5 inch Horse apple exhaust, I've ridden with him...he is good friends with Smokin'joe.  I have passed him a couple of times since, in north GA...  he usually rides with a Harley crowd and forgot how to wave...or might need to get glasses.
He was very nice so I would say it's the latter.

Man its a small world. He is a friend of mine, and I am making his bike a Super Valk. His trunk is in my garage right now. He is riding it without the trunk right now. All I have left to do is make his quick disconnect whenever it comes in the mail. And yes he has the Marks 5" hoarseapple exhaust. T-Bird are you close to NE Georgia? And is Smokin Joe? I'm 20 minuets from Toccoa and am good friends with him. He's just not on the forum much because ha mainly rides, no work on. That's why I'm doing it.

Blaze, I'm just 18 miles from the GA line, but about 140 from Carnesville. Joe...maybe 100 miles from the line.
Several of us..Joe, Wimp, Gordon, Greg, Larry, ride to North Ga several times a year...More so for me. Plan on riding to Smokin'Joe's Fall Color Ride on the 3rd weekend of October.
There are many in your area that are in the VRCC, Stanley, Britman, Duffy & Coot,  for some who ride that area. If you like to ride twisties there aren't many in this club as good as Britman.
If you like Ice cream....go with Stanley  Evil If you like some history with your ride, be sure to hook up with Joe. The man knows where every log house, out house, dog house is not to mention all the good eaten places.

That's good to know T-Bird. Didn't realize so many were so close by. I love the twisties and NE Georgia on into NC and TN is a perfect place to ride them. Will try to ride with ya'll when I get mine back together. Maybe this forum needs a section for rides segregated by areas. Does Joe post any info on his Fall Color ride? And Stanley, I see you're even closer. I'm in Athens all the time. We have the elevator contract for UGA Academics and Athletics. You a Bulldog fan? PM me if you ride up this way. Would love to meet up.

I'm a UGA Alumni...BSA 1993.....in Horticulture...I work for Athens/Clarke county Landscape Mngt and take care of all landscaping in the Downtown area......I don't care much for the sports part of UGA....I watched some when I was in school...mainly to see the ladies..... cooldude

We have several Valk riders in this area.....Scooter57 lives 30 miles from me, and we have more friends within 60 miles of us...all scattered around ATL, Cumming, Canton and the like.....lots of us meet up with Smokin Joe and T-Bird and others from TN, NC, SC all during the year.....I figure anyone within 100-200 miles is local to me...we run the mountains around here all the time.....the roads too much further South than here become too straight and boring for me....usually only ridden in the winter months when the gravel/sand on the mountain roads make it too dangerous to ride hard......

I try to keep a very low profile.....don't listen to any of these cats on here...they are good at photoshopping stuff...... cooldude
