The pot holes got me!

This morning I'm cleaning up my bike and noticed my left fork is leaking oil. Made a bit of a mess but not so bad as it didn't contaminate the brake pads. Oh well now I have a little project to do this week. It was worth it though with having a great ride.

Unfortunately sealmate isn't going to fix this one. Also since one is gone I'm sure the other will soon follow so I will replace both sets.

Are you replacing the bushings also Dave. Or just the seals ? I've only worked on forks from motocross bikes. A lot simpler and easier than these.

Ya Rob, I'll be replacing the bushings as well. It would be crazy not to do it while I have them apart. I think I will put my Progressive springs back in as well. I don't remember how the ride changes so I thought I would give them a try again.

I had the progressive fork springs installed about 6 months ago and didn't notice a dramatic difference, but it was certainly better. Better handling and a more planted feeling. I also replaced the steering bearings and that probably contributed to the better handling.

Ya George I tightened my steering stem bearings a couple of weeks back. Make a big difference in handling and much more stable on the hwys. It will take me awhile to evaluate the Progressive fork springs.
