I have a pair of Shure in-ear phones that I like, but hate dealing with the wires.  Anyone know of a good set of phones, possibley bluetooth, but not too important.

Earbuds are no good for me.  I have to use the in-the-ear (canal) to cancl out the noise while riding.

Anybody have good things to say?

I've had great service from Fit Ear. I went six years on a pair of the single drivers and just upgraded to the double drivers. Not cheap, but sound great, AND, what's your hearing worth?

No affiliation, but tell Alena and Mark I sent you.

LG HBS900 are wireless Bluetooth and have retractable cords. I use them all the time. They just lay around your neck and even vibrate when you have a call. You can take calls while on the bike just by the press of a button. And the people on the other end can even understand you quite well.

The HBS 900 have Harmon Kardon sound. They're pricey but I got an open box version off of that famous auction site for half what new ones cost.

Hmm not understanding exactly what you mean ...  in-ear phones vs. earbuds?

Anyway, which Shure do you have.  I'm looking to upgrade to the Shure SE 215 K.  Lots of good reviews but no personal experience and don't know anybody who has used them.

Been using the V Moda.  REALLY like their freq response for my music.  A little picky about insertion to get good seal and sound.  V Moda just recently got out of the earbud/in-ear phone biz.  They now only sell high quality head phones.  Oh well...

Not sure which model Shure i have.  It came with several sets of "buds".  Three different sizes of round buds that just sit in the outer ear.  They also came with a cone shaped type of bud that gets inserted into the ear canal.  This one completely eliminates all outside and wind noise (100+mph).  This is what I meant by in-ear vs. buds

The Shure phones I have do not have a volume control built into the wires.  I had to add a volume controler between the phones wire and the iphone.  Would like to find a set that already has a volume control as well.

As  only need them for one big ride each year, maybe 2, I don't want to break the bank.

I use the Scala Rider G9X headset in my helmet.  I usually use their speakers that I mounted inside the helmet, but for longer distances I can unplug the speakers (which have a standard mini headphone plug) from the headset and connect in-ear buds in their place.  I like this because they also reduce outside noise, like you are wanting.

G-Man,
Every single person will have his or her preference, so for me, I use a combination of items.

1. I had custom ear plugs made for my ear canal. I purchased the dual driver and the sound is awesome. It also cuts out the air noise so you don't have to blast the volume. The company I purchased is called STARKEY. They make hearing aids. If interested, find them on-line to see where the closest store that will fit you and sell the product. Again, the quality of sound is wonderful. Now, they probably cost $275.00

2.I link them to a blu tooth devise that you could use on any wired device. I put the item (Sony MW600) into my shirt or jacket pocket close to my head to eliminate catching the wires with my hand and so the wires don't just flap in the breeze. Find this devise on line to see if it will work for you.

The LG product someone recommended is great also. I have a model under what he was describing and use it when I exercise. The sound quality is very good also.

As you have found, stopping the wind noise helps with the sound quality and helps not having to turn the volume up to over ride the wind noise.

Good luck and I hope you get good info,
Bill

I use the older LG HBS 850 headphones. I love these things. They are plenty loud and very reliable. It is great not having to deal with any cords. the battery also lasts extremely long. I would highly recommend any of the LG HBS headphones.
