May 23 & 24, 2015 - Youngstown Ohio

JoAnn is going to fire up the smoker and Pete is going to open the garage for the 3rd installment of Bikes, Brisket & Busted Knuckles!!!

We make a weekend out of this event! It's Memorial Day weekend, so let's make it the place to be this holiday!

Join us Saturday at our house for great food and fun. Smoked brisket, ribs, chicken, etc. The famous smoked mac & cheese and all the fix'ins.

We will hold a tech session on Saturday, so come on down and let's work on your bike. We can do tire changes, brakes, fluids, electrical work, whatever you need before the big riding trips start! Then eat, drink, and be merry. All food and drink provided.

If you live nearby, go home and then....

On Sunday morning, we will meet up for a group ride on some great roads in eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Stop for lunch, then more riding fun!

If you don't live nearby, make a weekend out of it!

Be here Saturday or be here Sunday.... or make it a whole weekend of fun! Hope to see you there!

Hope to see ya there!!!!!

Yeah, 8 or 9 should be there to make sure everyone stays in line (especially the other cops).

Hmmm sounds like something to ride to on Saturday.

I don't need any repairs to speak of, but might be interested in a carb sync if that Digi Sync thing is there?

Mainly a nice ride, meet some others Valk riders and board members and shoot the breeze, check out other bikes and such.   I'll see what is on my plate and hopefully make it out there, and drag another Valk rider as well.  Fingers crossed....

I usually only read the tech boards. By sheer coincidence, I read the generals tonight. This looks awesome. I'm in Akron and I'm going to try to make it out Saturday morning for a couple hours. Bike doesn't really need anything, but I can offer help or advice (or make up some lies if I don't know). Would it be any trouble if I had a couple non-Valks in tow? They are still riding farm equipment. I will make them park far away.

If that's a problem, I understand.

All makes and models, of bikes and people are welcome at the party.

Come on over and bring whomever you like... plenty of food and fun.

Wow, what a spread for lunch.  I didn't even get to sample everything.....there was too much to even try.  Thanks so much Pete and Joann for hosting and opening up your home and garage to us all.  Did I say garage.....I meant man cave, well equipped and decorated.

Met quite a few new folks, actually all new except for Rich I believe.  And saw quite a few nicely equipped Valkyries as well. As much as I would have liked, I didn't make it out of there with any additional accessories (Pete's Russel Seat, Rich's triple exhaust tips and some other things)......but I also didn't lose my saddle bag scuff pads...whew that was close.

Thanks to Henry for bringing the Digi Sync,  which allowed a few of us to get a carb sync while we were there.   I'm not sure if that carb sync helped more than my getting a fill up of some Ohio premium gas for LESS than the regular gas here in the Burgh.......but it ran nice on the way back home and the trigger wheel appreciated that high test.  Just shy of 200 miles round trip....and I got a bunch of dead bugs to get rid of now too.

Thanks again.....

I really tried to make it but, it just wasn't in the cards.    Too many irons in the fire.    Hopefully, next year.   Sad

As a noob, I just planned on doing a couple hour meet & greet and coming home to mow. You're never sure how these things are gonna go. Holy cow! Between the great people, great food, and the opportunity to learn stuff, let's just say the neighbors aren't big fans of the safari adventure surrounding my house right now. It was fantastic to meet everyone- looking forward to more events like these.

Unfortunately, I'm tied up on another ride (Columbus-Iron Pony and lunch), so I won't be joining you folks today.

As John mentioned, thanks a ton for the hospitality and a great day, and thanks to Henry for confirming where my next $170 will be spent... That Digi-sync is gold in a 3x3 box!

Enjoy and ride safe!

Dave.
