I absofrikkinlutely needed a ride today and I got one of about 109 miles.  cooldude The other sorta need was my front lawn-all the rain made it take off like gang busters. I don't gotta tell ya WHICH need I enjoyed more-duz I??  2funny And tomorrow the P G R mission in Carthage Mo. is the reburial of a Civil War Vet that fought on the side of the Union. I've stood for vets from WWII onward but this will be the First Civil War Vet I've stood for. And as I understand it the rain starts again here Sunday and will be around fer a few days!  tickedoff RIDE SAFE.

yah,  need to put up the snowblowers and sharpen blade/change oil/clean deck on 3 old push mowers.  Just yesterday very HEAVY rainfall got my grass growing and all greened up but will wait another 2 weeks or so to start mowing, or so I hope!

Mowing is 10x's worse for me than shoveling snow since cannot ride the Valk or do other things in the winter.  Plus,  I am the only one besides one older retired, hard working farmer gent on my block who actually mows our standard city lot without a riding mower or pay someone else to mow their own yard.

Snow blowin' grass cuttin',  weed tendin', maintenance and repair, that is all furrin' to me now.

I have absolutely no excuse for not riding except that I can't wash the Vstrom here at the apartments.

I briefly thought of running it through the car wash but i couldn't find my swim trunks. Grin

The V has been started and I hope to get in some miles today if my knees will let me get the sucker up on the center stand so i can clean and lube the chain.  The chain, btw, is the means of getting the power from the engine to the rear wheels for those that have forgotten. Wink

Rain,,,,,,,,,snow??
PGR,,,,,got that one.
They, the infamous "THEY", were expanding a parking lot down town and discovered a grave yard from the post civil war Indian era.
We got to escort them from Tucson to Sierra Vista memorial cemetary.
Started out as a PGR ride, complete with commerative patches.
The powers that be had no idea how much response there would be. There was 8 miles of bikes.

Todays P G R mission in Carthage Mo. was moving to say the least. Had some Civil War buffs in period correct replica uniforms-Union of course-they fired 3 musket volleys followed by the volleys from modern day arms and a Civil War brass cannon. Some of the women were in period dress. A lot of the guys I ride P G R with spent time and elbow grease shining our rides up for today-every durned one of us from all compass points hit rain. To have something like this in my life 150 years after the civil war ended-amazing. I believe I may be correct in stating that this mission was-once in a lifetime. I humbly state-it was my very distinct honor to do this mission.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Good to hear.  It's about time someone did what is necessary to honor those brave patriots who fought to preserve the Union against those disgustingly rebellious southern outlaws.
