It's that time of Year, Judging by my wind screen. PS I ate one the other day, after it splatted on my wind screen. My mouth was partially open, it was not a conscious choice. Tasted like a blade of grass, and was rather cold as far as temperature. If this Rhino Beatle hit you, you won't be taking anymore tests with that eye.

I know how they get in - I open the face shield a little to let air in and sometimes, the bugs just get swept in. The last thing to get into the helmet was a wasp. I popped open the facemask (modular helmet) and he went with it up in the air above my head. Kept riding until a stop sign 20 miles further. Pulled it down once and he was hanging on, so put it back up. Got to the stop sign, then peeled the helmet off really quick to see if he was there. But he had taken the hint and left by then.

I always seem to get popped above the eye by those hard june bugs when I am not getting yellow jackets popping up in the vortex created by the baker air wings
Have not eaten any in a while.

Only street bike I had was a CB750 with a windjammer fairing only a few bugs would make it over the windscreen and hit the top of my helmet.
When It wore out I got the Interstate and holy crap where did all these bugs come from hitting me right in the mouth. That vent in the faring under the windshield acts like a jet engine and shoots them straight into your face. Plugged mine with some foam and life is good again.

Years ago (for all it matters) I went for an evening ride on a road with swamps on both sides. You could feel the temperature change as I neared the low area. I went thru a swarm of mosquitoes like a dust storm. They were in the helmet , inside the jacket , splattered on everything. I managed to keep riding , barely able to see until I got up the hill and stopped to take off the helmet , glasses , jacket and even my T-shirt just as the cop pulled up and turned on the flashers. She wanted to know what I was doing. I said"look at your windshield" , which she had used the wipers. I came thru the same thing without a windshield. She started laughing and asked if I was taking anything else off. I don't think so. She waited until I was ready to go before she left. Mosquitoes do not taste that good.

Got into a bunch of Love Bugs down in central Florida several years ago. The bikes, windshields, face shields, and clothes were covered.
Finally got out of the bugs and found a do it yourself car wash to clean them off.

When I had the rig, one of those yellow guts bug got past my windshield, my shield on my full face helmet (partially open), my glasses, and hit me in the eye.
I rinsed it out best that i could with a bottle of water that i had, then made a beeline to the doctor's office. He checked my eye. No abrasion but it was RED!! Sumbitch!
That hurt so bad I was glad that I was on three wheels, not two, if you know what i mean.

I would find it hard to imagine anything worse than buzzard poo hitting you in the face, considering it probably wasn't that appetizing BEFORE it was processed.

Have you ever been behind a bull rack-live cattle haulin 18 wheeler-that has a load of cows that just come off of feeding on alfalfa? Green squirts is being polite. Was west bound out of Longview Texas headed towards Dallas as a bull rack passed me with a white Caddy Eldorado on it's back door when a cow squirted a torrent of green goo that went across he hood and got the driver and his lady in the caddy-the top was down! Oh-insult to injury-white leather interior. RIDE SAFE. P S-bugs don't seem so bad now-duz they
