Windshield Lowers

I built this set of wind deflectors for my bike late 2013 when I had a windshield on it,,,,

and I put this faring on it last year.     The tops of the deflectors had less than a half inch gap to the windshield, but do not fit the fairing in the same way. I notice this year that I have a wind "howl/growl" at all speeds and don't remember having it with the windshield. I am wondering if I need to make a new set of lowers that fit the fairing better, or if this wind "noise" is common to running any lowers?

I didn't know Bubble Bees growled. 


I would try some low stick tape and tape areas that u suspect are causing a noise from the wind. then u will know where more mods are needed.
sometimes even the attack angle of the deflectors can make a difference.

Bike looks really sharp. Very nice deflectors u made.

Just a guess, but stuff some (black) foam rubber between the fairing and the headlamp bucket top and see if the noise goes away.  Keep the bugs out too.

Hmmm,, thanks guys, good ideas, I can do all that as soon as it dries out a bit,, we moved into a rainy period. I didn't even think about the area between the headlight and fairing Jess, I guess it is a likely suspect also.

Just stand out front and look for likely suspects of wind jamming. (And obviously, it's something newly added.... in combination with the old)

You could hit it with a leaf blower from the front, but the blower is so noisy you probably couldn't hear anything else (gas blower).
