I don't normally post, but wanted to report on my results after receiving Mark Tobias's pipe mods to my exhaust. I am extremely happy with the Mild2WILD TromBone glasspacks. Mark was very easy to speak with and answered all my questions. He workmanship is first class. The sound is amazing and is what these beautiful motorcycles need. MHO  Thanks Mark for a job well done and riding my bike is more exciting than ever!

Very sharp bike, and pipes look great. Saving for the pipes.

Nice looking bike and pipes. I love my Mark T exhaust.  Been running the trombones the last couple of weeks.  Nice to be able to put the silencers in when the wife wants to go for a ride.

Very nice looking ride you have.
I too have the trombones on my bike. It came with them when I bought it. Love them.
Why not introduce yourself on the Florida Board here and come for a ride or 10 with us?

Dan and Dave,

I also have Marks Mild2Wild system and love it. I agree with  everything you said about Mark. He really goes all out to make a great product. I'm looking forward to meeting him at IZ this June.

Question: Did either of you cut your trombones? I run the full trombones about 80% of the time and don't even think I'll cut em. I even rode with the wife on the back last year and she said she didn't even mind them. I thought for sure I was going to have to put the silencers in with her on the bike.

I've mastered the art of riding by cops. I usually upshift to a higher gear, let off the throttle and pull the clutch in and coast. It's worked every time so far.

In talking to Mark on my build, I asked him to make two holes on the inside of the pipe..one so I could mount the organ pipes flush with the blade cut and another hole out further so the organ pipes stick out an inch. I like that config best.

I had my silencers and pipes cut at a 45 degree angle even with the 40"  cans so they come out to the end of trunk. The one set I really liked were on the biked called "The Red Dragon".  He had Gatlin guns coming out his Mark T exhaust and they would spin.  His bike was totaled right after I bought my Mark T exhaust.  I came close to buying them and saving them for a different bike when he was listing parts from that bike for sale.

I LOVE my Mark T's!

I did cut my trombones a little.  Did not make any difference in sound level that I can tell.  I wanted them to lay flat in the bottom of the saddlebags, and they were a little too long originally.  Just cut a few inches off.  Now, they fit in the bottom, and take up a lot less room.

If I am traveling, I make the exhaust as quiet as I can.  Then, if I want, I can put the bones in when I arrive, and announce my arrival!!

At this point I have not cut the trombones don't think I'll do so. I opted for the baffles so I can install them if I want to quiet things down. The law is not too much of an issue where I'm at...as far as loud bikes go. I love the fact that there are so many different ways to go with this pipe set up.  cooldude

MP,  I ran into the same problem with getting the bones to lie flat in my Interstate. For that reason, I left them at home when I traveled to Inzane last year. It never dawned on me to just cut a couple inches off. Gonna make that happen! As far as traveling with fellow Valkers, I like the fact I can throw the silencers in so the ones behind me won't want to kill me.

Haven't had a problem fitting the Trombones in my Bushtec trailer.  Wife comes with me on all my longer rides so there is always a little room left in the trailer for the them and some beer. Silencers are nice on the rides with other bikes.

are these trombones/mark t pipes any louder than cobra 6x6's or for that matter, 90% of all HD's on the road?

My neighbors potatoe, potatoe, HD is very loud and other HD he had prior was the worst with those screaming eagle pipes.  When he revved that one,  it was about 20 yards from our bedroom window is all and the sound literally rattles the pictures on our bedroom wall.  Idiot likes to just let it idle for 20 minutes before taking off felt like taking a baseball bat and putting it out of it's misery.

The trombones are as loud and deep as most Cobra ' s I've heard. My other Interstate has a real deep tuned set of Cobra ' s that are louder and deeper.  They sound more like a Hotrod dragster.

I'll toss my trombones in when I'm feeling obnoxious, but I've found that even with them out the glasspacks can make their point made when you rev it up. Just this Sunday I pulled up behind a guy on a Dyna sitting at a red light reving his engine. I gave a nice quick 6k rev and he turned right around and looked at me. Not the first time I've done that and they usually stop revving their engine. In my opinion they sound like a high performance sports car at high rpm.
