This year I asked Bonnie if she would like to fly down to GOTF
Well being that I seemed in a good mood she replied ok but take me to New Orleans on the way
So we did arriving tuesday evening after a rough flight  The first time I heard women screaming on a plane

and no  I did not  cause any of that thank you

Had a great time in N orleans, with music food and if you have been there you know We also went to the WWII museum and did the whole thing   Moving and sobering afternoon

Friday we rode out to Hotglue's ,  actually we were intending to go to the motel first but the GPS on both phones died and we were just kind of going in a direction when I saw the budda' s in the road

Hold on there,  can there be more than one set of Budda's in Texas?
I did not know I was on 129 as the road I started on was not 129 but I pulled a u turn and found Baker lane
(sign wasnt up yet for GOTF) and before you could say woooohooooo we were amongs friends and family

After the obligatory hello's, you look like you need a beer and hugs to the womenfolk we settled in and
then Mark lit the flamethrower to start the smoker

I also got a personal (along with Thom- Chromedome) demonstration of his one of a kind
hydraulic wood loader and splitter  That was way cool !

Hay said he was going for German food and beer and some dozen of us headed off to a german restaurant voted highly by texans.  The dark beer was one of the best I have ever had so the evening started well
Then everyones phones went off with the emergency beeping and the storm arrived but we missed the tornado
Disco showed up looking pretty beat up but enthusiastic as the thunderstorm raged and found himself a secretary before you could say have a seat

The other bartenders did not seem to mind

The storm got hot and heavy with the band leaving because of the water pouring into the restaurant from the walls and ceiling.  In fact the room had to be abandoned.  About 90 minutes after arriving we did get some tables  enjoying what was ok food.  Y'all want really incredible german food come to Millwood NY to Travelers Rest  They dont have the ooompah band or gorgeous gals in leiderhosen but the food is top shelf and big portions. And the grounds and fountains are awesome too especially in winter,

By the time we got back to ground zero the power was out and also out at the motel.  But who needs power anyway when you have friends and good conversation

The next morning the rain let up and we rode over to ground zero.  Texas Deb has a big car and 7 of us piled in for a trip to Galvaston  Lots of fun, great ice cream, old houses art and a fine time was had
some pics
Bonnie at the seawall

 some houses of interest

scultures on lawns

Here are just a few pics of folks I have not seen in awhile
Mr & Mrs Magoo (Moonshines twin brother and his bride)

Troutdude and Shiela (wow I love Pralines)

Houstone Texas Deb and Rocketman

That is Clint's trailer in the background
Strider did a great job as auctioneer

I was high bidder of Mark's #5 Bourbon bottle and look forward to seeing it arrive either by mail or if Mark makes it up this way this summer
Hay and BJ left for a spell as their son was proposing to his girl  She said yes
Meanwhile Nancy (Mrs TP) was holding BJs ticket that won the big sword Strider posted in his report
Here is BJ waving the sword

This morning we went to the airport and dropped off the car, only to discover we were at the wrong airport once we got to the front of the security line  The United flight turned out to be leaving from Bush altho we thought Hobby which is right down the road from GOTF and the motel

So we did our OJ simpson running thru the airport routine and Holy moly, found a real live former NY Cabbie and got to Bush in 35 minutes from Hobby airport  really !  The cab driver said it wasnt even his personal best. Seems folks are always needing to go from one airport to the other in Houston.

We made the plane to NJ with time to spare   Never a dull moment............
What a great way to spend time   Cant wait to see other folks pics and stories

See ya at Inzane and Thanks again Mark Charlyne and all who helped the charity and to make the weekend such a large time
