http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/feds-urge-eating-expired-food-even-if-18-months-past-throwaway-date/article/2563422#!

Each person throws away 36 pounds of food a month???

Do the morons even know how much is brought into and used in their own homes?

Whoever wrote the report should be sacked immediately for gross moronity (my own word).

another UN agenda to come up with reasons to control all food availability.
read about these plans back in the 1990s including how and which they already have done is change the height to weight scales, so everybody in the USA is now overweight. they want everybody skinny, weak and in need of food. people will do want ever told to eat and drink.  they also have plans to control the water.

Back in the mid 70s I hauled milk and milk by products. The guys in the lab at the dairy told me then that on milk it's the expiration date plus 5 days-with PROPER refrigeration. When I purchase butter on sale it goes in the freezer. My local grocery store discounts meat that has past the expired date. I buy it pop it in the freezer and a month or three later thaw and cook it up. NEVER been sorry on the meat. I buy day old bread and pop it in the freezer. If it's a bit stale I toast it. BUT I would like to see these gubmint rhoids practice what the are tryin to preach. These are the same brain dead sumbitches that know more than the folks what build the cars and most if not all internal combustion engines-think 15% alky in yer gasoline.  uglystupid2 RIDE SAFE.

"Sell by Date" is not the date the food is going bad.  Its the date the seller is suppose to have it off their shelf.  How long it is good after that is determined by how it is stored and what kind of food it is.

I have a problem with their 36 lbs of food per person thrown out.  That seems like a lot.  I know my DW and I don't come close to throwing that much food, 72 lbs./month.    Does this include food prepares like restaurants?  If so, they don't have a choice but to throw out food the folks don't eat.   Not sure how they are going to change our eating habits.

Hang around with my wife for awhile.  I no sooner stick something brand new in the frig and she tosses it.
