Michelin Primacy MXV 4 205/60R16 @ 42 PSI Really like the more curved profile of this tire compared with some of the others I've seen. Transitions from straight to turn and back effortlessly. Rode it through NC at Inzane last year and loved the grip and overall comfortable ride. Only 5K on this tire but have no regrets. Probably burst into flames tonight.

Funny, that's a favorite on the Wing board! (Rumor has it, that's being discontinued too.) Michelin Primacy MXV 4 205/60R16 @ 42 PSI
My Riken was a Michelin, thanks I'll check it out. Champiro, but less then 2,000 on it so far. MUCH better then the GYTT
Which one exactly? Really like the tread profile on the 328 GT. Yokahama Advid Envigor
Another Fav on the Wing board. How you likin' it? I need some pretty great grip!

I put a Hankook on the ST for a left coast run 2 years ago.
It did transition quickly from flat to lean.
However it did wear quite well.

I'm with Gavin...if you put a Yokohama Avid Envigor in the 205/60r 16 on, you won't be disappointed. About a hundred bucks and it'll probably give you close to 20k. Doesn't feel much different than one of those made for a motorcycle tires.

Took a Nexen 5000 off and replaced it with an Austone taxi tire. Haven't run the Austone yet and the Nexen raised the bar. Really enjoyed how well the Nexen transitioned. RIDE SAFE.

Just ordered the Austone - liked the looks and liked what I heard from Hotglue on the tire - will mount it when I get back from ebolaland.
Looking forward to it - this will be my first time on the darkside.

Which one exactly? Really like the tread profile on the 328 GT. Nothing as exciting looking as that one, but you got me curious with it. Others were running, so I got the VP1. More of a standard looking tread. I should have investigated more to find the cool tread

Vredstien sport trac 3. Had a hankook k-106 and loved it. Thanks, I'm leaning toward one of the Hankooks. They come closest to the spec I was runnin' (205/55/zr16 94w) & the k-110 has the most similar tread pattern. Besides, my tire dealer's still got 28 of 'em in a warehouse in Johnson City, Tn. for $128 out the door. Thanks to all! Got me lookin' at a lot of tires I'd never even heard of! Awesome

You already know this Whiskey Man but the way you ride and most of the Grand-Ma's Buick tire listed above is asking for it.... Stick with a soft compound summer tire with a directional pattern rated 320 or less.

10-4 That's part of the reason I'm leaning toward the Hankooks, (the k-110 is 280 & the evo2 is 320). I also like the higher load rate, (94 is 1477lbs) it seems to keep the tire from distorting so much in the corners. We need that two up! Gonna miss that Raptor, seriously! Was an awesome tire! Here's the k-110.......... & the evo2.......... I'll post here soon as I get some miles on one

Loving my Austone Taxi Tire. Got about 6K on it now and it feels like a MC tire to me. No counter-steer to speak of.
Had a Bridgestone Potenza that got 27K on it before it developed a slow speed shimmy. Heavy counter-steer.

Falken ZE 512. This is my 3rd car tire. First was Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. It was pretty good. Then a General Altimax - also pretty good. This tire so far - pretty good. I really don't have a preference of any of the 3. All require a little more input for steering and are lousy on rutted roads. My next will be the Austone Taxi Tire, though.

Hey Pappy, no it's not jus' the photos, they're pretty square. The 205mm wides are all pretty unforgiving on the slow speed stuff. Anything above even 10mph & they're a dream to ride, but in a rut at a stop light they'll try real hard to turn you over! I loved that Riken Raptor cause it stuck like glue in the corners, 2 up on an 800+ pound machine, but there were a couple of times (especially with us off road at the campground pullin' the trailer) that I was sure my 6'2" 235lb azz had done dumped us on our headz! (Still amazed I haven't yet to tell ya the truth.) It's jus' the trade off I'm willing to make in order to obtain the greatest possible grip in the twisties. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who wasn't supremely confident in their skills with this big ol' hunk of steel, & even then, it's a dog fight sometimes! If you're lookin' for somethin' a little more forgivin' with almost the same grip in the corners, I'd hafta recommend the Michelin Primacy Alpine PA3ZP that TJ posted. I haven't run it personally but it's the popular tire of choice over on the gl1800 board. I believe you'd get good (& well behaved) performance from it based on all the reading I've been doing over there. It only comes in a 195/55/16 but has the added benefit of being a ZP (Zero Pressure) a.k.a. "runflat". Gives it much stiffer sidewalls & being a performance winter tire still has good grip. Good luck with your search. Any thing I can help with, jus' shout! http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Primacy+Alpin+PA3+ZP

Had been a proponent of running winter tires in the summer but after reading what tire rack has to say about the compounds and their sensitivity to temperatures am not as sure these days. How many are running winters in the summer?

Hi Whiskey,
Running Michelin Primacy Alpin run flat on the GL1800 Goldwing. Love this tire. Have over 20,000 miles on it and it rides great for the type of riding we do with this bike. 2-up pulling heavy trailer. Just got back from a 2000 mile trip to the TN / NC mountains. Beautiful weather.
Running a Kumho Ecsta run flat on my Blue Valkyrie Interstate. Have about 10,000 on this and it is a nice tire.
Running motorcycle Avon Cobra tires on my Green Valkyrie Interstate that is lowered and a car tire can't be mounted.

The hankook I had was 7 1/2" wide but on the ground tread was 5 1/2. So its a little round.
