I plan on annoying my 13-year-old daughter, Emily, by making our Inzane trip as educational as possible.  Are there any good documentaries or dramas (PG rated or milder) that would give us an appreciation of the areas we will be visiting and their history?  Particularly Black Hills, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and in between.  She is very into wildlife preservation, and especially interested in wolves, but certainly don't limit your suggestions to those topics.

You are going to be right next to Devil's Tower - so you can watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind - that is Devil's Tower.  Neat place to see.  Anything about Crazy Horse since the Crazy Horse memorial is close by.  And of course, anything about Deadhorse - where Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried and he was shot - Wild Bill with Jeff Bridges was a good one - or Little Big Man.....(Shoot, I would watch Little Big Man - just to watch it - what a great movie).  Everywhere you go up there has some history with Custer as well - he led a lot of parties through there - so again, Little Big Man with Dustin Hoffman....

You will love the area up there - so much to see and great roads.  Down by Custer, SD, there a lot of Buffalo to see.

"Man in the wilderness".
Loosley the story of Hugh Glass.
"Little big man", is worth a look any time.
Custer battlefield, Battle of Greasy Grass, is conviently by the freeway.
Devil's tower is visible from the freeway, its a great perspective as you get closer.
And awesome when you get to it.
I'd advise a pull over in the middle of nowhere, just to sit and listen to the wind and take iit all in.

On multi day rides that is one of my favorite things to do. On back roads. Find somewhere to stop and smell, listen, see.

Custer State/National Park is a great place to see Bison. We rode through a herd in a parking lot when we were there.

Someone once told me when you are going to the Black Hills, you're in for a treat.

He wasn't kidding. You are both in for a spectacular trip!

There are all kinds of jewlers there. Get her a Black Hills Gold ring from the Black Hills.
I got one for my daughter when we were there and she has great memories with it.

I'll have to start a gofundme account. Grin  All my trips are very carefully budgeted, so it'll have to be a pretty thin ring.  I've already spent a good chunk of change getting proper protective gear for her, and that's mostly second-hand.  The rain suit is new and a decent Tourmaster Defender, as I am wary of cheap or used when it comes to the chance of day-long misery if I make the wrong purchase.

There are two shows I like watching, Canada Over the Edge, and Aerial America.

There was a nice one showing Waterton Lake and other areas of the Bad Lands of Alberta.

Aerial America, look for one of each state you plan on traveling through.

I know other shows like these I've wanted to what I found on youtube after a simple search, I don't think you would kind any trouble with these.

Lots of HD pictures.

There are several good documentaries about Yellowstone available on Netflix.

I don't have Netflix.  I got on my city's library app and arranged to have a handful of videos, including some suggested, sent to my local library to pick up.  When they start arriving I'll have to find time for Emily and me to start watching them.  A couple of them I'll have to FF through before-hand to note which scenes I'll need to skip.  Few things are more awkward for a young teen than watching intimate scenes with a parent.

I actually have ridden with OSS.
We stopped for pictures and an ADIOS at a real cool outcropping of rocks.
His pony was chomping at the bit.
