My splines are shot.  I'm trying to figure out If I'm farther ahead replacing the worn parts with new or trying to get a used one.  I also found out today my piggies are cut, so I did the Ragnar cut.  I think I'm gonna shim the needles and drill the front baffles to.  My last bike was a 95 Road King with straights.  I kinda want that muscle car sound on the Valk.

I'd go new.

Ragnar cut does make the gurl growl, especially when you twist the right wrist. ;)

Search is also your friend.

If I understand right, the splines in the rear drive, not the flange, that part is replaceable from a Goldwing 1500. Their rears can be had cheap. I bought one for my bike as a spare, and I think I paid more for the shipping than the part($25). This can be a donor for the Valk.

Still have to swap out the internal parts from the Wing final to the Valk final. The splines have to be pressed out of both and the good one pressed back into the Valk final.

+1 on the 1500 spline swap.Pressing things apart was a little jerky. Threw the ring gear in the oven 350 for about  half hour, threw the splines in the freezer. Pressed on like butter. To clean the little nooks and crannies I used a hemostat, a bag of cotton balls, and just a touch of brake cleaner. Put the cleaner on the ball itself and keep away from the bearings. use sparingly. As long as your there, new seal, o rings, maybe dampners take pictures as you go so you can check yourself. total cost $75.00 for the used drive, maybe another $50 or so for small parts lube and cleaners.

That's the thrust washer, based on your description.  Part number 42616-MAJ-G20.  Just put that number in your browser and you should be able to find it pretty easily.
