We're getting close.  Anyone besides me and Early Bird put their routes together for the trip to Spearfish?

Early Bird has a really nice long route - wish I had the days available to do such a trip.

"Point west, twist throttle."

Will, no doubt...work better for me than that same route did getting to Paducah... :)

For most, this is not a one day ride to lunch, so we have to plan  :2funny:

Find a half waypoint and go for it. Looks like Salina KS. 670 miles on Friday and 669 miles on in Saturday.
That would get me there a day early as my room reservation is not till Sunday.
May get lazy and stop at OK city first night and take two days to tour in.

I generally hit the road before 5AM as that is my regular leave the house time. I usually don't get tired until around 700 miles or about dark.
Life goes on whether you are in it for the ride or not.

Super Santa

I make a plan, then see what evolves.  May speed up, may detour.  Who knows?

Ray,

I just looked at going thru Lubbock.  I have a son in school there but he may be home that week. I may go to Lubbock the 5th, Denver on the 6th then come in thru the black hills to Spearfish on Sunday the 7th. The mountain view looks a lot better than the planes of Nebraska.

Marcus,

Several of the Colorado group are headed up both Saturday and Sunday. Check the Colorado thread if you want to meet up ....

Cheers

I found the Colorado thread and did not see any specific plans on the trip. Anyone leaving Friday June 5 from Dal-Hou area interested in making the western run thru Denver up to Spearfish to arrive Sunday at ground 0?  I plan to be in Abilene by noon the 5th . I do not want to ride with a large group but know I should buddy up with someone. This is my plan.

Lubbock Friday evening.
Denver Saturday Evening
Spearfish Sunday.

My plans have changed a little.  Still leaving Thursday morning, June 4th but planning on going a bit further day 1, to Des Moines, thereby getting out of the heat as fast as possible and having more time up north to just ride.  Friday morning, breakfast with RJ, then heading north to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see Lambeau Field, across Minnesota, visiting with friends in Rochester, then thru North Dakota, onto Little Big Horn in Montana before turning south to South Dakota.  No specific plans on where I'll be Friday night, Saturday or Saturday night - just depends on where I decide to stop.  Looks like the least planned of any of my long rides.  That should make it more fun.
