Dang, that 45 colt is a hand cannon.

Took it to the range on 52 outside of Dade city this morning, and put about 40 rounds through it.
I am impressed with it, the target is from 20 yards away, not the best I have done, but for the first time with the 45, surprised me with the accuracy. It does kick like a mule, so after 40 rounds shot the 38 special and a 9 mm before I headed home. My hand could not stand a whole lot of the 45.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Pappy!

Well.....looks like beating you in a foot race after robbing you is out of the question!

It wasn't that long ago that one or the other of your hands was
all busted up... I'm glad you're still such a good shot  :cooldude:

With the recent issues with your hands I'd be very happy with the results from your new roscoe.

Kind of surprised me also, I still have some stiff fingers but does not affect my aim a lot. Right hand is pretty good, except for the little finger. If any of the pins in my hand were loose, the 45 would have shook them up. It is definitely a two handed shooter.

Bill, I don't have a .45 (long) colt, but I seem to recall reading some of the Cowboy match ammo available is lower powered stuff that might be a lot more pleasant to shoot.

Or some local reloaders or gun shows might have some too.

Folks need to remember the sights on these single actions are hardly precision.
