It,s funny how when you are waiting for timw to pass because you want
to do something time slows down.
Now mind you after I turned 60 it seems time just flew and the next thing
I knew I was stareing 68 in the eye (birthday May 21).
Well the thing I am waiting for is the ride to Spearfish to see all
the old friends and make some new ones.
It may be a lonely trip at times for me because it,s 1700 miles and
will be doing it by myself, now if none of you have ridden a long way
by yourself it is a or can be a very rewarding thing to do.
You learn alot about yourself and God knows the things that run thrpugh
your mind.
When I first start out on these trips the first thing I always do is thank God for
being blessed to do this trip. Then comes the little prayer for all the others safe
journey.
We will no dought find ourselves in all kind of weather and meeting all kinds
of people.
I will say this to everyone: One rule no stopping in any chain food stops.
Always tey to find a Mom and Pop place to eat. You will learn so much more on ypur travel frpm the people you meet there.
God bless and good journey to all.

Going from memory  2funny here but I believe I've got right at 1100 miles one way. On the other hand I will be tying up with my brother at Sioux City or Sioux Falls and then heading to the venue with my brother/riding partner. Last year the brother and I tied up at Nashville and rode some interesting roads-The Dragon Moonshine 28-just  to name a couple-and then from Asheville to his place North West of Chicago. OTHER than reminding him to turn off his turn indicators we ride very similar to each other.  Roll Eyes Before I hit he key I ask GOD to PLEASE keep me aware of the folks that ain't payin attention that I might be near on the highway and after a safe days ride I thank GOD and my Phatt Ghurl for the safe ride.  cooldude See ya at Spearfish!  Wink RID SAFE.

Just a heads up on the Sioux City area. Major Road Construction in and around Sioux City involving I-29 through Sioux City, Hwy 20 east of Sioux City and within Sioux City itself. Can be major headache. If you can get around it via alternate route take it.

I will be on rt 90 going through  La Crosse WI then across Wis

then through South Dakota to Spearfish.
I hope all is clear going that rt.
I think the heaviest traffic I will hit will be in and around Indy trying to
get to rt 74 the up rt 39

CHECK THE WEATHER if you will be on 90 in south dakota

If radar says red/orange moving GET OFF THE ROAD at 1st opportunity

The wind and lightning are to be avoided   I have been in lots of bad weather that was top 10

I am taking 20 across Nebraska, we will be leaving Omaha Sunday morning and leaving Ft Wayne Sat am

Probably take 30 across Indiana and Illinois to pick up 80 west of chicago
