He did say that the Minneapolis police confiscated it 5 years back, but gave it back to the people. The sergeant confiscated it again in 2013 from them and he tracked it down to me as the original buyer back in 1979.  When I reported it stolen December 2nd 1986 I didn't have the serial # so he tracked it down buy original ATF form. He did say the perp"s are suing them to get it back.  In the raid they didn't have their search warrants in order, so no one got charged with a stolen weapon.

Wow... Here's to hoping they cleaned it and took good care of it for you all these years! Quite impressive!

Amazing that you got it back. Those Browning BPS's are great shotguns. Getting kinda pricey these days too. About 600.00 new.

Nosey question , do they re-stamp it in any way. Just curious as to the tactics.

Not nosey at all!

Nothing added to the original serial number that was on the BPS. Both of us Just signed a form transferring it from the Hennipen County Sheriffs Department back to me. he had all of the back ground check stuff done. really a simple procedure.   Cool  T.P.
