I know that there is an InZane board, but I think the answer that I need will come up sooner from people on the General Board.

I would like to know the years that InZane was in Johnsonville, TN.  I believe it was 2005 and 2006 based on the following:

2001 - Zanesville, Ohio
2002 - Zanesville, Ohio
2003 - Paducah, KY
2004 - Paducah, KY
2005 - Johnsonville, TN
2006 - Johnsonville, TN

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

I went to both Johnson City InZanes. I didn't start riding my Valkyrie until
January 2007.

I think maybe they were 2007 and 2008...

Dragons Over The Smokeys was held in Johnson City, Tennessee in 2006.   That was the year InZane was held in Frisco, Colorado.  Redvalk did an excellent job on that gathering and helping with the two subsequent InZanes in Johnson City.

InZane was held in Johnson City in 2007 and 2008.

2004    -       Paducah, Kentucky
2005    -       Paducah, Kentucky
2006    -       Frisco, Colorado
2007    -       Johnson City, Tennessee
2008    -       Johnson City, Tennessee
2009    -       Frisco, Colorado
2010    -       Bellaire, Michigan
2011    -       Bellaire, Michigan
2012    -       Eureka Springs, Arkansas
2013    -       La Crosse, Wisconsin
2014    -       Asheville, North Carolina
2015    -       Spearfish, South Dakota

That's how my memory recalls it.  My memory is much less than perfect.   Wink

Willow -

Thanks.  It must have been in Ohio for three years then because we started in 2001.

It was indeed in Zanesville three years.

InZane 1 - Zanesville, OH
July 25 - 28, 2001

InZane II - Zanesville, OH
July 24 - 27, 2002

InZane III - Zanesville, OH
July 20 - 27, 2003

Been to 12 InZanes so far, only regret is that I missed 2!

Must be a mostly, East of the Mississippi kinda shindig.
Howzabout an East West with enough time for those who desire to make the next one.
I. E. a week apart.
Rotate E/W every year and long riders like OSS can get to both.

There's probably a lot of things that go into the selection of the Inzane site than any of us will ever know.  It has to be a place where people want to ride, preferably a place where it isn't too hot or too wet to ride.  There has to be a hotel willing to host such a motley group of folks, facilities available and not already booked for other events and then I have no idea what else.  I can't find any faults with where Inzane has been and am excited about the Spearfish location this year.  California or Oregon are future rides, but I don't know if the critical mass of riders would come from the east coast to make it a feasible location for Inzane.

I dunno, I'm guessing that there are a lot of folks out here with iron butts who would happily make a trek to NoCal or Oregon for a rally.   Maybe next year.

Maybe.  But when Inzane has been in CO a couple times, the numbers have dropped off.  That is NOT a very far ride for those from the West Coast.  And, not many showed up.

I'd like to tell you that's a brand new idea.  It's not.  It's been talked about.  I would like to see us do two gatherings each year, east and west, but I doubt the numbers would support it.  There's also the issue of the people involves in planning and executing two events rather than one.  We really do have some trouble staffing just the one with people skilled to do so.

Finally, what MP says is correct.  The evidence just doesn't support that enough west coast riders would attend to make it a worthwhile event.

I hope the evidence points differently in the future.

If admin thinks this inapproaite, please remove.

The VOAI is having their get together in CO this June.  IF you cannot come all the way to SD, maybe you could make it to CO?

VOAI is a smaller group, and will just be a get together to ride, and enjoy friendships, at two locations this year.

Link here:  http://valkyrie-owners.com/SMFORUM/index.php/topic,11966.0.html

From Bakersfield, CA to Cortez, CO, only 776 miles.  I, and a lot of others, have gone MUCH farther than that to Inzane, or to VOAI Reunions.  You do have to make an effort to get to one.  LOTS of riders go over 1000 miles each way.  I have gone over 1500 miles each way several times.

Try to make Spearfish.  It is a WONDERFUL place.  It is only 1340 miles from Bakersfield.  We have a number of TX riders coming.  1340 from Houston.  We have several NY, NY riders coming, 1740 miles!

Get the Valk tuned up, and come on over!

Mel if I was retired I would be at both  This year its Spearfish for me and Gman

Nice to have a friend to ride with for a change   cooldude    as I have ridden solo to all the VOAi rides except for once with Novavalker and once with PaulXX ) I think it was West Virginia with Bonnie on the back seat taking pics,  actually they may have both been with me) my rememberer aint what it was

My favorite VOAI ride was in Maggie Valley and then Sweetwater Tn  That area is just a great destination and its less than 800 miles from me. a hard day ride, and why is it always thick pea soup fog in the morning down there?

I cant pinpoint a favorite Inzane but Asheville was really nice
