And you have to wonder how it got airborne.

Sprocket will be between the swingarm and wheel. Not only did the wheel have to come off the bike but then the sprocket had to unbolt iself.

My paranoid little brain wonders if the sprocket was dropped from another moving vehicle with malice aforethought

Had to have been. No way no how that came off an operational bike...unless it just got obliterated by a semi or something...

I wondered the same thing as far as how it got airborne. Thought maybe it was in the road and got flung up by a car, truck i n front of him. Something else to watch for now

My worst get offs motocrossing in Japan the bike was basically intact. Both wheels and all the associated parts stayed with the machine cept for the occasional brake or clutch lever or a shift lever. And I'm talkin 60s tech. Mayhaps it was a nefarious scheme.  RIDE SAFE.
