OEM Saddlebag Brackets/Mount

Hello to All!

I acquired a great set of OEM bags & hardware from a member. There were some small parts that I had to order & they are on the way. When I test mounted the brackets, I was curious about the angle of the brackets. Specifically, making the fit to the threaded hole at the passenger pegs. It just appeared that the angle to fit was pretty sharp vs. being level with the profile of the bike. Maybe I'm missing something?

Does anyone have a side pic of the brackets without the bags that they can post to help? Here is the schematic of the OEM brackets. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I would think that the only thing that would alter the angle of that attachment point would be that you were missing the spacers, #38 and #39 in the diagram.  A good assembly practice is to put all the bolts in loose without tightening any one of them down.  Hopefully your hangers have not been damaged...
