My replacement Yuma didn't last either. I went with the best that Autozone had other then the lithium.  cooldude

I bought an AGM battery when I got the Intestate in 2007, and it was still in it in 2013 when I sold it. I put a tickle charger on in the spring just before getting the bike out. I never took the battery out in the winter, and the bike was stored cold. I never had a problem with the battery starting the bike in the extreme cold either. (one time -10) After all that, I won't have any other. I can't remember the brand, but, bought it at autozone cooldude

YUASA = Sealed Batt = AGM must be properly charged initially to last more than a couple years

My thoughts exactly Oss.  Did you fully charge that new battery 2 years ago or just install it thinking the alternator would charge it.  If the latter, that's why its dead.

The YUASA YTX14-BS battery in my Valk was installed in July 2011.  The prior YUASA battery that was in the bike when I purchased her in 2007 has been sitting on a bench for four years and still holds a charge.
I replaced it only because I didn't know how old that battery was.  Yes, I charged the new battery  according to the instructions.  I'm lucky there, I don't usually read instructions...

JeffC Yes it was properly and fully charged after I put the acid in the battery and waited the time according to directions

Unheated garage  It went 3 months without being started and was dead when I tried it

Trickle charge overnite and started

Dead again last night

on the trickle charge still

I am concerned that I may blow out the alt if I put a weak battery in the bike

So I will ride the beemer again tomorrow for powwow

Well believe it or not I always used Walmart batteries and they were good for 5 years each. Never had a battery go dead on me.

Since you have a concern about things in 3's lately and thought you needed a new secretary I thought this may work for you  Grin Wink
