This pass weekend the local Harley dealership had there demo days, so thsi weekend My friends and I want and rode new harley's.
You may ask why?  Well I just love to ride them and then get on the Valk and just feel how much better she is then the HD's.
Also I'm still a fairly new rider and I now feel that I could really ride them to see what they can do.
I liked the new Roda Glide and the Ultra Classis those were my favs, but riding the Road Glide makes me want to ride a F6B I really like that fix fairing.
in the end the Harley's are nice bikes even if they are over price but I didn't anything that made me want to trade my 1997 Standard in for, That flat 6 is just so smooth and has so much power and I can ride is a lot harder then the HD's.
I just wish I would of been into motorcycles back in 1997 when they first came out because 18 years later it is still one of the top bikes on the road, IMO.

I have nothing against an HD but, they don't offer anything I'd consider bringing home.   So, it's a waste of time for me to attend such events.   Although, I never thought to look or ask if HD makes a lawn mower.    The one I just purchased for my daughter is a V Twin.

Those Open House/Demo events are an excellent opportunity to show off some beautiful bikes, and partake of some free food and drink......that's why I try to get a few of my fellow Valkyrie or Honda Riders to go with me there.  The 15yo Valkyrie still commands a lot of oohs and ahhhhs from the HD crowd, and some have no idea what or how old it is.  The technology in electronics is nice on the new bikes.....but I'm still grateful when I get back on my Valkyrie.

As someone said earlier, the HD community does do well by throwing or supporting ride and or charitable events.  Without them....do you really think we would have as many successful rides or events?  Probably not....

No idea, (again, not knocking a HD event), I just don't go to them.    My experience at the few I have been to was not as you describe.    I got tired of the attitude so, I just don't go.   I'm glad they have and ride what pleases them, it's just not for me.    I'm not a fan of the product or, those that ride with that attitude.    I have friends that I ride with that ride HDs, we have a good time but, it's all good natured friendship.     Again, I'm not knocking all HD riders but, I won't put up with "the attitude".

Just sold a Street Glide and kept my F6B.
The new electronics are nice.  Harleys are pretty
and all peel seem to think that is what a bike is
supposed to look and sound like, well I am here
to tell you there are others out here who think different.
I love my new F6B and it feels and reminds me of my 99 toured.
I have had a few Harleys over the years ,but I think I
am over that thank God.

I like the sign ,parking for American Made Motorcycles Only. I try to park right under the sign. More than once I have been challenged and asked them how much money they have to loose. I have never moved my bike unless I was ready to go.

I'm lucky the HD owners that I know and ride with have been riding for years and most if not all have own a Honda at one time or another and they know how good the Valkyrie is as a matter of fact if anyone give me crap about the Valk they are the ones that put them in line, and yes over the weekend I had a few HD riders looking at the fat girl and saying how nice she look looks.  The women really like her..

I love HD shops. I go to them all the time. Free bbq, beer garden, free big name concerts, etc. I park right up at the door. Never a problem with my Valk being there. Maybe its the DTR patch.  Grin

Love to give HD riders the one two punch. First I point to the engine block made in the U.S.A. that gets em reeling and then finish em off with the nickel trick for the knock out quite fun actually. God I love owning a Valkyrie!

You may have identified the problem.   I don't like BBQ sauce, I don't drink alcohol, avoid loud concerts (lost almost all of my upper range hearing test flying helicopters) and I also don't like crowds.    But, I don't need to get attitude from someone who doesn't know me or my Valkyrie.   I guess, I've got my own attitude.    Basically, I'm not very sociable.    Wink    Hell, there are days I don't even like me.    cooldude
