My son and I were in Slaton, Tx this afternoon. Had to wait for a train to pass. It took quite a while, cause it was a LONG train. Military vehicles from one end to the other.... Just curious where they were going.

Now that's a lot of mechanized armor on the move, maybe there's more trouble expected at Twin Peaks.

All the same tanks? Maybe off to be reconditioned, seen that on TV before, but don't recall which state.

Also must have been impressive to see them in person.

They had more than just tanks. There were all sorts of personnel carriers, Humvee's,  and some other "heavy mobile artillery".  I have no idea what they're called. There's no turret, but they have a LONG barrel. Pretty cool.

Getting ready for the next deployment to Iraq...it's gonna be war again there real soon.

Robert Gates was on TV today and calling for a revision of the rules of engagement; that our troops may conduct more direct missions to eliminate ISIS fighters.

We'll be back there in force within 12 months for a full-on showdown because the Iraqi Security Forces are turning tail.

The 3 factions that live in Iraq will never agree to join up and fight for the entire nation, it's not in their genes.  Hence, we shall intervene once again on the ground.

The military has worked a deal with Walmart in Livingston, Tx.    Walmart closed the doors and got rid of stock.  Now the Walmart Parking Lot is full of military vehicles.  Supposedly they are going to practice crowd control in the area.........I think it is practice for Marshall Law.

Probably a training rotation returning to home base from Ft Polk Louisiana.  It is the JTRC, joint readiness training center, where they conduct realistic training for all combat units, ours and our allies, although the allies are becoming fewer all the time.  My wifemate worked transportation there for many years scheduling their ins and outs.  Trains are just one method they use in these movements.  Many trucking outfits are involved also.  I would think these guys are returning to Ft Hood.
