Hi all,

just a quick intro as a squeaky new member. Bought my first motorcycle this year at the young age of 40. I've always wanted to ride and wish i would have done this 20 years ago...I took my safety course in the spring and then deliberated on what first bike to buy. Was gonna buy an Indian Scout but the dealer didn't think it would be in until late June. I had my eye on the new Valkyrie and bit the bullet and haven't looked back since. Very impressed with the handling of a bike of this size. it's a keeper. I LOVE the look and style of the original Valkyrie's, but felt this new generation one would suit me better.

I think it is great that this site exists and have a great deal of respect for all the ol' timers who have been members since its inception and for the admins that keep it running. Respect to ya'll

If you're interested in doing some parking lot practising, I am leading some sessions on behalf of the Chinook Riders, the Calgary chapter of the CMA.  Last week we did slow speed exercises, and this Wednesday evening (tomorrow) we will be doing curves, corners, and emergency manoeuvres.  I am a former licensed motorcycle instructor, and the fellow who helps me is a current instructor.

Welcome. Nice choice on your ride. I doubt that you will regret not getting the Indian.  cooldude

Welcome!  That's one heckuva choice for a first bike!  At least you shouldn't be needing bigger better faster anytime soon.  Get to know her for as long as it takes,  then ride it like you stole it!   cooldude

G'day and welcome Havoc.

I strongly urge you to take up Gryphon Rider's offer. Any professional training you can get will be invaluable.

Congratulations on one hell of a first bike. Take it easy and be safe!

Welcome! Great bike and am happy she chose you as her new owner! Am a firm believer that Valks choose their owners and nit vice-versa.
One of our Florida group just went the same way you did and picked one up for a steal of a price. Go to the Florida board and introduce yourself there....you can exchange ideas on set up and future changes.
Oh....and welcome aboard!

I highly recommend Keith Code's book" a twist of the wrist 2" to grasp motorcycle riding technique mechanics--any higher level motorcycle training classes or even track day schools will make you a better rider--great guys here---remember the cages always say they didn't see you so don't let that happen...
