A friend is one who takes me for what I am.

Cleveland, Tennessee

« on: May 19, 2015, 04:32:09 PM »

Hi to all my friends,
I want to apologize for not posting and keeping everyone up to date, I do read the forum every few days. My wife is typing this for me because the meds I am on make my hands shake too much. I have already had some bad text messages from auto correct Grin.  I am doing a whole lot better than I was six weeks ago, and it looks like everything may turn out great. I can talk all day (wife:I can't get him to shut up  Grin) just can't type.
To catch everyone up, the viral disease I had 12 years ago that caused my first heart transplant, has resurfaced and now is in my heart and lungs. My doctors are great and say they can keep the virus at bay with meds. I just have to go through a long period of medical & physical treatments to try and repair or even reverse some damage I already got to my heart & lungs.
I made the decision to sell both my Valkyries, while I am on the mend. I sold my beloved yellow Chiquita banana (nicknamed by Don & Tracey) to a good friend and fellow VRCC member, Rainman (Steve) in Bloomington, IN. My Black Interstate has been sold to a old friend and fairly new VRCC member texas23 (Steve) in Houston,TX.
I am not going to say my riding days may be over, they will just take a turn for awhile. I just don't want these bikes to sit for a year or so, when they should be ridden and enjoyed by another.
I will miss these bikes no doubt, but also look forward to what my next steed will be in the future.
I "will" stay active with the VRCC, and will continue to read the forum, just not able to participate in topics.
I will miss being at Inzane this year and seeing everyone, but will be able to go to my good friend &
riding buddy...Smokin'Joe's fall color ride in October. Hope to see you there. cooldude

Good to hear from you, Terry, even in your wife's voice.  They are good to have when we need someone to look out for us, aren't they?

Take good care of yourself and do what the doctor says.  We look forward to seeing you down the road.   cooldude

Thanks for the update, Terry. Glad to hear the meds are working. They'll always be more Valk opportunities, whether it's the originals or the new fangled versions. Will miss you at Inzane for sure.

If by chance you can still go, I'm keeping an extra queen bed open for ya. Just show up and it's yours.
Take care,

T hate you had to sell the banana but hey I understand better to be ridden and loved than looked at and loved. It also removes the temptation of trying to ride when not physically able cooldude you will be back in the wind one day. I look forward to seeing you in Robinsville at Miss Reba's.

TBIRD,

The bikes can be replaced at any time. YOU on the other hand can not. Get well soon, we will meet up and party again. After all you (and your other southern buddy) are great fun to be around. We will allow you to take all the time you need to get back to your old DIVA self.

(Yes, I still have your DIVA under pants, I was waiting for the right time to give them back)

Get well,

You've made some wise choices and, i'll bet, it took some fortitude.

I pray that the docs will get you back to healing so that you can reinvest in the 'steed' of your choice. cooldude

Terry, I'm glad your doing better and I hope you come out of this better than new.  But I must say I am very disappointed you won't be at Inzane this year, that you sold your bikes (although I understand why) and am really glad that you will be at the FCR.

I guess there is a bright side to you selling your bikes though, at least now we don't have to worry about rain and floods of biblical proportions for a while when we ride!

I'm praying for you Bro.  Keep in touch.

Glad to hear you're doing better, Terry. I'm sorry we weren't able to meet since I'm working/living in Cleveland, TN, now and was looking for other Valk riders here. Thanks for getting me some info regarding places to take bike for service and a suggestion on someone to contact about riding to InZane.

Take care of yourself, and like others have said, listen to your wife!
