Author Topic: Trip recording /tracking program?  (Read 353 times)

I've used spotwalla.com in combination with the "bubbler" App. The Bubbler program reads the GPS coordinates and sends to the Spotwalla programs which records them on a map for live tracking and historical purposes.  For example I can go see my SS1000 trip from last year.  It works okay most of the time but was looking for a more integrated one program solution.  Any apps available to accomplish this?  Either Apple or Android.  Thanks

I'm interested in some opinions also. I'm riding up to Chicago from Orlando end of June and want a way for people to see where I'm at.
Falling short of an actual GPS tracking device installed on the Valk I've d/l an app called Real Time GPS Tracker. It will let you send a link to their website and anyone who has your logon info can track you.
Seems to be OK.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I just write my mileage down when I leave and when I come back.  Cool

A program called Glympse will show someone your progress for up to 4 hours, I believe.  However, it does not lay a continual track.  Once it stops, you have to restart it.  It will post to Facebook so friends can see your progress.  Shows the roadway you are travelling and also your speed.

I use "Followmee". Yes, with two "ee".

It works pretty well. The unpaid version updates your location every 30 minutes at best, but you can pay a small fee to have it update as often as every minute. I use it on an Android phone, but I think they have iPhone and Windows versions as well. The unpaid version simply provides the most recent location, where the paid version will give you a weeks worth of history (which you can download and save) or longer (45 days history maybe?) with a slightly higher fee.

You can also give the link to your friends and family, so that they can track your location (and speed...)

It runs very unobtrusively as a background application on the phone, so you never have to do anything with it, once you start it.
