99 Interstate/2017 Goldwing

« on: May 22, 2015, 06:12:02 PM »

I have just retired after serving 35 years in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Clearance Diver.
This July I'm be heading to Sturgis and staying at the Shade Valley Campground. After Sturgis the next stop is the Grand Canyon. Then I'll work my way back east passing through the Smoky Mountains.
I'm looking at maybe 3 - 4 weeks on the road.
Next year I'll head to Inzane.

There are 6  National Parks in the region (mostly Utah and adjacent to the Canyon) that you can spend time at and be dazzled by the different scenery that is unique to each one of them.  Spending a couple of days at any one will allow you to get a great overview of the area.   Then head east thorough the mountains of southwest Colorado as you make your way they won't disappoint as well.
The state roadways will give you all the excitement and fun that you can handle when you ride the great wide open spaces of the West.
Enjoy the ride and hope that your weather is sunny and warm on your shoulders. cooldude

That's what I say ever since I retired from the USAF 15 years ago (my, how time flies) anyway, I say "since I retired. every day is Saturday, the only problem is I work Saturdays"

I work for myself so its not hard to get any of those "Saturdays" off if I need it to ride or go hunting or just be a couch potato (rare, but sometimes needed)

Judy and I say so many times, there are many folks that make/have way more money than we do, but not so many any happier than we are....

You need time, once you retire you can afford time.  Its the most valuable thing you have..........good on ya, enjoy the ride!

Nova , thank you for your service and dedication. From another veteran. I did not retire military tho. As far as doing what you want , go for it. You deserve it. May your travels be safe and full filling . There are many roads to explore and many VRCC family members around.
