Just finished an 8 hour flight from ebolaland Africa to Dubai. Been drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes for the last 3 hours in the airport in Dubai. Another 3 hours of sitting here watching people and then board the plane across the big pond ..... 16 hours from here to Houston, 3 hour layover there and then a 45 minute puddle jumper back to the swamplands. Get home tomorrow night. Talk about Can't WAIT!!! See my loved ones - the only reason I even go to ebolaland.....my heart aches to be with them again.
Let me tell you, sitting on a plane for 25 hours and 9 hours of sitting in airports....ummmmmm.....SUX! No, sure of it.....IT SUX! Come to think of it, in Africa you have to go to the airport 4 hours early .... So make that 13 hours of sitting in airports. At least you don't have to worry about shakedown rooms and malaria mosquitoes here in Dubai.
Oh well, getting some wind this time in....see ya'll in Spearfish.

Safe travels Strider. Just got to Rio & fixing to make a transit from Brazil to Fourchon. We have 3 boats headed back. 5,000 miles @ 10 knots? Not something I want to do all the time.

well, so far so good.....made it to Houston...leave out of here in an hour for the last leg. Plane is overbooked. They askèd me if I would be willing to give up my seat and take a later flight. I guess my face said it all.....looked up at me, handed me my boarding pass and wished me a safe flight.

LOL! Been there, done that! At that point after a looooonnnnngggg international flight, I've been tempted to kill someone to ensure my seat on that last leg home. ;-) |

Been there Brother... many many times. I hear ya! And I fully understand! Careful in Dubai on your next trip... Ramadan is coming up soon. No eating or drinking or smoking during daylight hours. It sucks when you get off a 16 hour flight and you can't get any food & drink. Safe travels! Enjoy your time State-side! |

It should be illegal for them to overbook a plane. That is like you selling your valk to two different people and asking one to wait until you get another one.  |
