Finally did it. Got me a Valkyrie. Tried to get new one in 05 found out they quit making them in 03. Saw the Ruin price made me walk. A little flashy for my taste. Saw the VTX couldn't get a deal here in town. Went to Case Honda in Davie Fl. OMG the choices Got a deal drove out a 05 F model silver. What a Ride. while driving to work one day. saw this weird contraption on the lot of the Punta Gorda cycle dealer. Went to Sun Sport here in Ft Myers to see if they had it on the floor as well. Sure enough, Polaris Sling shot. But as I was walking up the isle to look at it. Lo and behold what did I see. 2014 Valkyrie. 3 of them. Damn!!!! I was in trouble. Saw the damn things marked down . Sat on one, pulled it up off the stand and wow. This thing was 30 Lbs lighter lifting than my VTX. Hip giving me trouble now and was getting a little nervous riding my big hawg. 3 days later driving the new beast home. No regrets. Can't stay of the damn throttle. What a rush. Somebody has to come up with a fix on the exhaust. Like the rumble it produces but Dbls need to go up. Seat sucks. Got a Corbin, They suck. Look and fit great but my arsh is to bonny I guess. Had a Russell Custom seat on VTX. Best seat on the market. Should have sent mine in to them but did not want to be of this damn thing for too long. Gotta ride it thrill is too much. Addicted to the rush. Sent the Corbin back. They have offered to rework the seat to my needs. Well, that was February, we are at the end of My. 5-6 calls, promises of calls back and timeline when done no replies. I am a patient man. Will see what they come up with. Need a seat W/backrest at some point Have an Air Hawk pad now Good for an Hr or so but still no real help. Love the site. Seems same great people as were on VTX site. Tried to get registerd on the F6C forum site but no luck. Little confused about the designation F6C? Papers, title, registration say Honda Goldwing Valkyrie Gl1800 C/E Bill of sale Honda 1800 CE. Owners manual says GL1800C/A Goldwing Valkyrie? Dealer here parts dept has no idea what an F6C is. Just curious were F6C comes from. See a lot of members love the original. Not totaly sold on the style either but my old 1978 GW 1000 was giving me trouble and I wanted to stay clear of carbs. Had the old girl from 1981 to 2005. great bike. I've come full circle back to the next Gen. basic GW. Never quite sold on all the fairings and glitter. Looks like the migration has begun though. Sorry for the long post.

welcome TallRider. Hope you have better luck going forward on making the beast your own. I'm very lucky that my tush is cush enough to handle the stock seat. Most of the riders are going custom seat though. Sad to hear about Corbin not working out for you. Ride safe

WELCOME from Central Florida Sounds like you will have many happy miles on the THE BEAST. I moved from a VTX and belong to the VTXOA and VTXCAFE, some great people there and some great people here as well. You will come to make many new friends here You should introduce yourself in the FL Board and the 1800 Tech Board ( discussion for the Valkyrie 1800). A couple from the Florida group recently got their new Valkyrie and they are riding it with a big grin on their faces.

Welcome, Tallrider. Glad you were able to jump on the new Valkyrie ship. F6c was the designation and tank badge that went on the European Valkyrie, I believe. The F6 part would designate Flat 6 for the engine designation. I think "C" was the designation for the Standard but others will correct me.
Good luck on getting the seat to your liking! I think Des at Ultimate now makes a seat for the new Valk. I myself have a Russell for my 99 I/S and agree it's the best seat ever made!

First, welcome. Second...maybe member hubcapsc (Mike) will chime in here. He has one of the new Valks (and an old Valk) and has done a bunch of stuff to his to make his more comfy for him. You might can find a couple of his threads on the 1800 Tech Board. Here.... http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/board,12.0.htmlGood luck with the new bike.

Been watching Craig's List and eBay for years in the hope someday I would be able to find a Valkyrie I could afford. Last year found a very nice tour model the same maroon and cream color as my Shadow ACE. Asked the dealer if they would hold it for a month with a $1000.00 down. They said [/img]no it would be4 gone in a week. Well 3 months later they still had it sitting in their show room, not sold. They offered it to me and I said sorry I had used the money for something else. So a couple weeks ago I'm searching Craig's list for my Valkyrie, Texas, Cali, FL, wondering how far away I may have to go to get it, and low and behold I find one in Edinboro !!! (PA) I live about 25 miles south of Lake Erie and Edinboro is 15 miles from my home. (WOW) and this guy didn't have one Valk, he had two!. Thought it was a scam for a minute. Anyway sent him a TXT and went to see him last Saturday. 2 hours later I was driving my (NEW) (USED) 1999 Valkyrie Interstate (Black) wow what a ride I love it. My poor Shadow ACE is a little upset with me!! I finally have a Valkyrie. One thing I would like to change, is the sound, would like a little more rumble, has anyone cut the piggies off the stock exhaust and drilled out the first set of baffles? I don't want to mess up the stock exhaust if it isn't going to be worth the bother???

Yes. Lots. Go a step at a time. First cut the piggies and see how it sounds to you. Leave a small stubb for each one so you can rebuild them if you decide to later. Drill the baffles if you must but only if you must. There ares ome that have drilled the baffles and didn't like the result. It's hard to undrill the baffles.

Drill the baffles if you must but only if you must. There ares ome that have drilled the baffles and didn't like the result. It's hard to undrill the baffles. Beware the DRONE. You've been warned. Cutting the piggies will NOT make it any louder. Just more of a deeper sound...but NOT louder. Drilling the rear baffles WILL make it louder. Nice rumble...not too loud. If you want Harley hunting loud, some (including me) have done the Ragnar cut. It's gutting the rear baffles completely. Some have gone even further by gutting the entire exhaust and just run a straight exhaust. VERY loud. Here's a bit of a how to.... http://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm.htmand.... http://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm2.htmHOWEVER, your exhaust is ONLY STOCK ONCE. They don't make them anymore. If you make mods to it and then regret it (as I and many others have done), you'll have to hunt down a used, unmolested set from someone.....or buy an aftermarket set of pipes.....and aftermarket pipe people aren't as plentiful as they once where also. Your choices are somewhat limited. There are ways to, um....unmodify your modified pipes once you go down that road, I did mine, but, it's really not worth it IMO when there are other alternatives to a loud(er) exhaust. Two cautions.....what Willow said.....if you must cut the piggies, leave about an inch so you'll have something to attach to when you want to put them back. There are threads on how to do that. The other....search the tech board for drone...or droning. Some people it doesn't seem to bother....but if it does you, it can drive you nuts and seriously screw with your hearing.

Appreciate the welcome and suggestions. The seat and exhaust are the only issues I am in the mood to change. Don't necessarily like the 3 into 2 strait pipe sounds. Like the deeper sound more like the sport bikes. My VTX sounded like my old air compressor in my shop so I added a set of Bubs Jug huggers. for looks. Sound was loud and at steady speed was not the best sound. During excelleration and deceleration sounded great. Little uneasy about cutting up my pipes. Kind of guy like to feel and touch such changes before I do it myself. looking on line does not get the feel or look and how they sound. I am watching the forums and checking the internet to see what comes up. VTX site had a place were you could send your original exhaust and get it modified properly. everyone that did it was well pleased with the results. hopefully someone will do the same here as no one is mass producing anything aftermarket. I like the looks, blends with the bike. will study this mode suggestion more. Nice info. The seat another issue. Corbin has promised me a modified seat , So I am waiting, 3 mo. now? will let everyone know how they did I hope!! I see a lot of threads from my home state Illinois. I am from Joliet. Miss all the back roads and rides along Illinois river, starved rock, Ottawa and Marsailles. nice rides. Lot of flat land here in SW Fla. Looking for some guys here in Ft Myers area with similar bikes to meet up with. Just like the VTX Fla riders all seem East Coast to No Fl. Haven't posted on the Fla site yet. Need to do so. Currently ride on Sat with a group of guys meeting at Sun Sport here in Ft Myers. Mixed bag of bikes and riders. Nice guys. Leader of the group "Over The Hill Gang" 84 Yrs old. I almost can't keep up with him. He sets up a saturday ride between 100-200 miles. Stop for lunch and back home by 2-2:30 He rides on 2 wheels no trike. Again appreciate the welcome and info. Ride safe.

I recommend going on youtube and searching "Valkyrie Exhaust." There are a LOT of clips of almost every exhaust configuration ever done to a Valk. See what you like. Personally, I run 4 inch by 36 inch open slash cut truck stacks with the stock baffle completely removed. I also have some cheap auto parts store glass pack mufflers that I can slip in if I want to be quiet. Your tastes may vary. I have less than $100 in the whole setup.
Ride Safe,

I cut them piggies and drilled them rear baffles and I think it sounds great. Piggies weren't enough. Drilled a 1 inch diameter hole through each piggie into each rear baffle. I also added 18" tips that extend the pipes even with back of rear fender.
I've read about the drone, but I ride with a half helmet that has a removable padded piece that makes it a 3/4 for colder days and haven't experienced it. Never tried a full face on the bike so I can't compare.

Looks like we have a mixed conversation on the exhausts here. My bike is a 2014. Does the exhaust on the 2014 come apart? Looks like the end comes off on mine. Can you then pull out the inner guts as shown in the illustration posted in this thread? Then do the dastardly deed on the innards? As I said, I like the current rumble sound but way too low. Cranking the throttle with the stock muffler seems to cut out any sound and goes completely quiet. You just get this quiet whine and what sounds like the 4 bbl Carb kicking in and your off. Kind of like a high torque electric motor. It needs a little more guttsy sound for my taste. Safety as well. To quiet. Need to anounce your presence in traffic. Nice discussion on this issue. Looks like I need to get over on the tec side for the rest of this. Appreciate the input.

Noise on a budget-AIRHORN(S). Far as the new Valkyrie goes for noisier pipes I haven't been keeping up cuz I'm on a 99 I/S. I'm relatively certain some one somewhere is working on after market exhaust system for your new Valkyrie. Oh and B T W-welcome to our sandbox and the insanity.
