had anyone got a gearpro gd movie camera?

Finally opened it up and I think I am in over my head

About the only things I figured out is how to charge it and that it needs a class 10 mini sd card

My expensive gopro wont work more than 4 seconds even with new batteries
(on good advice of a member I bought a 2 pack and they are charged)
so I figured I would try something else for this trip

I don't have that camera. I have a go pro knock off. But the screen will go off on it after a few seconds, it looks like it turns itself off but it's still recording. Maybe yours is doing that also ?

On my trip out west last year it crapped out every time in movie mode

i have the gear pro and it does the same thing,,it will record but only play back a few seconds

Bottom line is, you buy cheap you get cheap!! I don't mean price, I mean brand name.  Your first clue should have been the name sounding similar to GoPro. I have three GoPro 3 and two of them I bought off EBay, one black $90 and the other silver $80. I also bought a Swann FreeStyle, which is just as good as a GoPro without all the bells and whistles. When a product sounds like a successful major product, then stop and think, should I just jump into any spider web that looks good?  Also in some cases certain features shut down to conserve battery life because of current draw.
